Watching her
strolling in the night so white
Wondering why
it's only after dark

In her eyes
a distant fire light burns bright
Wondering why
it's only after dark

I find myself in her room
feel the fever of my doom
Falling falling
through the floor
I'm knocking on the devil's door yeah

In the dawn
I wake up to find her gone
and the note
says "only after dark"

Burning burning in the flame
now I know her secret name
You can tear her temple down
but she'll be back and rule again yeah

In my heart a deep and dark
and lonely part
wants her and waits for
after dark (x4)

Nice. Reminds me of Robert Plant's rendition of Donovan's "Season of the Witch"

Robert Plant And The Priory Of Brion - Season Of The Witch. - YouTube
They listened to the Doors.
LOL--everyone who posts with a pic of Salma Hayek gets an automatic +1 and a "like"

This is exactly how the Doors sounded, except Jim was singing.

I had an ex with similar attributes...pleasure that leads to pain..

That's what I used to think... Not anymore after I re-watched it for the first time after many years last year. The song remains great, though.

That short film was brilliant in its oddity!

Funny!  though I don't know if that's too close or not close enough.....and dang if this song doesn't bring that image to mind EVERY time I hear it now....like Pavlov's dog or something.  Long Live RP!!

I've a slightly different memory with this tune. Used to work late shift at a Kinko's. On nights where the mind was working in overtime after work, I'd just get in the car and drive. Usually the poison of choice while driving around was Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM (which is so very helpful for one who overthinks and is given to flights of fancy and seeking imaginative escapes from the factual constraints of reality).

Anyway, this was often chosen as the bumper tunes, especially at the top and bottom of the hour when they'd break for network news.

Ah, good times…
Nice.
It starts off like a slowed-down version of "Gloria" (Them, et al)
If I were stuck on a deserted island, and I could only take one clip from a movie, this would be it.
crank it up
think of Salma
muy bueno

I highly recommend the latest album "Back Into Darkness" and the remastered version of "Tarantism"

After Dark = 10/10
Giving men raging boners since 1996. But yeah, I love this tune too:)

Nothing better than commuting to work half asleep with RP on the phone knowing you guys are still asleep dreaming of Salma Hayek.

I had the opportunity to hang out with Chalo Quintana a few times who was also a member of those two bands.  He eventually went on to play with The Havalinas, Social Distortion, Cracker and a few other bands.

Visions of Salma Hayek are a good for the soul on a Monday.

Sounded like 'aftershocks' from Roy Buchanan and The Doors, much thanks Radio Paradise.
You're welcome

Then how come I don't hear the Doors in hundreds of other songs that are in a minor key?

No, that is not the reason, there are others (such as the haunting vocals, yadda yadda).

That's a good point; I stand corrected.  There are those other things: the general "spooky" feel, twangy, echo guitar, deep reverb on emoted, screaming vocals, etc...

A little bit more digestable from the current playing list. Due to Tarantula's Poison?

An iconic scene... the song is cool as well but it will always get second billing for me. (lucky snake... sigh.)
This song fn rocks, and always love getting images of Salma Hayak in my brain.
I like this wiki description: Tito & Tarantula are a chicano rock/stoner rock band formed in Hollywood California in 1992. The band is best known for its songs, "After Dark", "Back to the House That Love Built", "Strange Face of Love", and "Angry Cockroaches", as well as for its role in Robert Rodriguez's film From Dusk Till Dawn as the band performing at the "Titty Twister".
