I bough this CD in the year of release but I had never heard the band play. I just liked the cover art. I went home, put the CD on and fell in love immediately. Harriet Wheeler's voi ce is amazing, this is my early 90's Indie phase all over again, I can almost smell the strawberry incence and feel the love beads around my neck hehe.

On 10 October 2014, during an interview on BBC Radio 6 Music's Radcliffe & Maconie radio programme, David Baddiel described Dave Gavurin as his "oldest mate" and stated that "they [Dave and Harriet] are doing music, but whether they ever put that out there, I’ve no idea. They're the most paranoid people about actually putting stuff out there." Fans who have seen the Sundays live will remember hearing one or two tracks that were never released.

In an interview with the C86 Show Podcast released on August 18th 2020, Patrick Hannan revealed that Harriet and David had "never stopped making music" and that there are a number of tracks on which he had played drums. Patrick stated that these recordings may never be released.

My niece is a grade school teacher. Her warning to me: "We're in trouble" (relating to the attitudes of young people now and looking to the future.( in general. Always exceptions.)

When the Cranberries came out a few years later I recall everyone saying that they (the Cranberries) were that other Irish band that sounds like the SUNDAYS, and now the SUNDAYS have slipped away.  I really like this album and WILD HORSES is brilliant on this album.  Thanks Bill Music can bring back such great memories.

I remember when I saw the Sundays in concert in Dallas shortly after they released this album.  We demanded they come back out for an encore.  They thanked the crowed and then explained that they had run out of songs to play for us.  So they played this song again.  It was a great show.  Their later albums were also good.  Seemed like a nice group of folks too.

The music gives the illusion of happy - but IMHO, the lyrics are anything but.  This album is filled with songs that have dark meanings wrapped in a totally enjoyable package (10,000 Maniacs also do a good job with this emotional-wolf-in-sheep's-musical-clothing approach) - but not so sugary and pop-y that its disgusting.  (although I know some on this thread will disagree, which is fine)

Love the Sundays, love this album.

No, Bjork is an excellent artist.  This music is quite bad.  Reminds me of the Corrs - terrible, airy, aimless, 90s music.

I think it's one of the finest symphonies of strings and mercurial, powerful, sultry vocals; impeccable stylings, with finest solid production, ever. And this will forever be that little souvenir of the year that I first heard this: just back from Japan the first time, just back to ski-bum in Summit County for the second time, and -- by no means did the story end -- and I love how it still doesn't...Thanks, RP for playing this!

I consider this CD one of the most under-rated ever.  It's one of my favorites.  This song is the best of course.  I don't know why this never got a lot of recognition.  Wonderful CD, every track.  Totally original.  I think the Innocence Mission owes a lot to the Sundays.

Love the song. The melody is very sweet and seductive. The vocalist sounds very little or nothing like Edie Brickell. To me, Brickell's voice is fingernails on a blackboard. This lady's voice is far brighter and more emotive. Was the band English? I know nothing about The Sundays, but her inflection — souva-neaha, terrible yeea — sounds UK not US.
