Much the same, but it's only 2 and a half minutes long.

Even better than at 17:30.🐨
I wonder what it sounds like at 1:30 a.m.
Not the percussion, but the melodic line is very reminiscent of Coil, especially their track "The Snow."
Also dancing!
Billy Hayes has something wrapped around his mid section
well right now I believe this track could go on for hours and I'd happily not notice!

What a righteous groove!

So ... this is the "Eclectic Mix".

I think I'll stay here for a while.

Weird - in a state where prostitution and gambling is legal, marijuana is considered worse than meth. So - I drink instead, but I'd ten times rather just get high - less damaging to the liver and kidneys.  Um, to address this song, I really like it. Very funky, but in the best possible ways. Caught myself tapping my foot, nodding my head, and stopping what I was doing to find out who the artist was.  I'll need a couple more listens, but I'm betting this will go from 7 to 8 in no time...  And fredriley - I feel your bliss, vicariously.

Eight years later.  Things have improved.

I will!

*Starts dancing too*
I went to Amazon to score the CD, and now that I have it, I am trying to figure out which one of the eleven tracks this was.  I am starting with number 9, indicated as "Original". {#Propeller}

EDIT:
{#Eek}  Ooops.  Now I see that I bought the CD titled istanbul 1:26 am.  The picture shows the album Divan, which has only one track with this title.  This album is just the original and a bunch of remixes. ... so now, I went to Amazon and ordered Divan too!

I thought this was something off one of the later Orbital albums til the saxamaphone kicked in near the end.

... and I love that spellcheck has a problem with "til" but not "saxamaphone"
Really diggin' this tune! thanks

I've been listening all day and have yet to hear a song that isn't brilliant!  I'm also listening from Istanbul, so it was amazing to just hear Istanbul 1.26AM by one of my favourite local bands: Orient Expressions.  Check out Gevende too; they are like a Turkish Amon Duul and look for Wufi -a Turkish TV on The Radio.  Anyway, thank you for the wonderful music.

Hey Jason:) I am online too here in the 'bull! When you and cigdem coming out for a drink in beyoglu? :))
See them live in Istanbul if/when you can....

I'm really diggin this
one of these song that remember me why I've paid so much on audio card and headphones .
Yeah... real cool...
I feel a bit miserable here this arvo but I swear I have just never encountered so many songs I dislike in such a short space of time and my rating statistics attest to this but once again really dislike this one.  Thank goodness for the PSD button that is playing me something I like and had never heard by the Replacements.
Verrrrry cool.

{#Dance}
yeahh! Orient Expressions!
Nice groove.  This seems like something I'd be more likely to hear on SOMA-FM's Secret Agent channel.  Good to hear it here.
*edit: oh, I wrote a similar remark about two years earlier.

this would make good music for warm ups before belly dance class....or before a belly dance workout...
Happy happy {#Dancingbanana}

Interesting that there's a whole album of 12 remixes of just this song… sounds like the original album had a bunch of songs of some other style… and this one.
This is pretty good, volume high!
I'm not much into this.. but I'll take one for the team ... seems like it is somewhat of a favorable rating... well at least it's over 5.
Like Mich Gerber, a nice blend of styles.

I am totally with you on that.  I feel all wiggly and am druming away on my desk.
hm!
Yeah, I dig this one...
Never heard it before Radio Paradise. That is why I like it so much. Taking the best out of different cultures.

Well, definitely a nice one... Dubby and groovy. {#Chillpill}

Like from the Nottingham Crew before this brings another 8 from Hannover.

You're killin' me Bill.  Killin' me.

That is a sweet groove. Doumbeks played by savvy hands always make for a great piece of music.

PS: 1:26 AM is part of a documentary about this city, called Crossing The Bridge: The Sounds Of Istanbul. If you enjoy this kind of music (or ever wanted to learn about the the incredibly vibrant and diverse chaos of creativity that is Istanbul's music scene), then I definitely recommend watching it.

For example right here for free on Google Video.
Like I've said before, there is a direct correlation between the number of dancing bananas and how well I like a song.  I only wish there was a way I could search songs by the number of bananas!

I love the song! (Would it be a coincidence that I am in Istanbul and it is 00:19 am right now?)

love the percussion! {#Dancingbanana_2}
I had to double check to assure that my internet radio had not skipped over to Groove Salad!

diggin this groove, y'all ...
Wow!
Lovin' that drumming part!
I was dozing off, and the squeaky toys in the background of Bill's set-break at the end of this woke me up! I couldn't figure out what noise had woke me up, until the toys squeaked again! edited for spelling error, I'll blame it on lack of sleep!

Cool stuff
Wait a minute ... sounds more like 1:27...
Walking down the Istiklal street at 1:26 would be fun, somewhat dangerous too.
Not the music you'll typically find in Istanbul, but sounds exciting..
Funkadelic!
Hmmm, thought for a minute this was something new from Thomas Newman. Nice!
A 7 without the sax, but a 5 with it. All in all, though, a quite likeable mellow groove.
