When she goes, she's gone
If she stays, she stays here
The girl does what she wants to do
She knows what she wants to do

And I know I'm fakin' it
I'm not really makin' it

Such a dubious soul
And a walk in the garden wears me down
Tangled in the fallen vines
Pickin' up the punchlines

I've just been fakin' it
Not really makin' it

Is there any danger?
No, no not really
Just lean on me
Takin' time to treat your friendly neighbors honestly

I've just been fakin' it, fakin' it
I'm not really makin' it
This feeling of fakin' it
I still haven't shaken it

Prior to this lifetime
I surely was a tailor
Look at me

(Good morning Mr. Leech, have you had a busy day?)

I own the tailor's face and hands
I'm the tailor's face and hands

I know I'm fakin' it, fakin' it
I'm not really makin' it
This feeling of fakin' it
I still haven't shaken it, shaken it

I know I'm fakin' it
I'm not really makin' it

Just cuz it’s Simon and Garfunkel doesn’t mean it’s good.

That being said, it IS a GREAT TUNE!!  I really like it!

These guys were really onto something; still amazing, how well they sang together, how musically inclined and enlightened they were!
Yeah, walking through the tear gas in a turtleneck is totally faking it nowadays. You wanna BE antifa, you gotta LOOK antifa.
I lived on Ashby Ave in Berkeley when this tune was in heavy rotation on both FM and UC Berkeley campus radio. Tear gas wafted through the air as riots over People's Park raged.

Heady times.

I don't know Cat, I think it's about being blown away by a beautiful free spirit and the anxiety and low self-esteem that can creep in
This whole album has such a great vibe. Youthful exuberance and earnest lyrics.

How could Mr. Leach have had a busy day if it's just the morning?

Morning goes until noon, so that's half a working day, yes?
Great song from my youth, they were magical
Ah yes, the giant black turtleneck built for two.

I brought up the lyrics .... <snipped>

Well, I've read them through (the lyrics) several times and I'm not sure of their meaning.  Is he "fakin it" with his girlfriend/wife?  Is he "fakin it" with the entire world?

Is the tailor related to any of the preceding lyrics?

LizK?  LizK?  Anyone?
well, then Fake It Till Ya Make It

How could Mr. Leach have had a busy day if it's just the morning?
I brought up the lyrics, and here I am, wet evening in west coast of Florida, air guitar rocking. Like this song better than ever, and well, you know.{#Bananajam}
{#Good-vibes}  This tune never ages, unlike me. An 11 for sure.
Best greetings from Germany. We enjoy your music every day. Ekkehardt and Kathleen

Near the end of this one... I distinctly heard it... an eerie voice saying, "I buried Art!"

Perhaps we could arrange an inter-denominational ice cream social, followed by a good old-fashioned ecumenical circle-jerk.

pic of naked mole rat next to pic of Joel Osteen
Although separated by thousands of miles and loyalties to different faiths,
the naked mole rat and Joel Osteen often climax at the same time during church "ceremonies."

Synchronicity? Quantum entanglement? Separated at birth?

We may never know.

S&G never fails to please the ear, the mind, the psyche.
"Funny how Paul's hairstyle eventually came back into style 30+ years later."

"Unfortunately."

I say it used to be called a tonsure, but I could be fakin' it.

Those are a few and far between on the LRC.
Especially when it comes to my uploads.
Should be a given with Simon and Garfunkel though.

I'm surprised this gem wasn't already on the Main Channel. {#Stupid}
