I was reminded every measure
Of riding trade winds
Buried treasure
I got on fine with modern living
But must I be such a citizen

And the world still so wild called to me
I was lost, I'd been kept on my knees

Trippers and askers
They surrounded me
All them describing
How they'd like me
All them wanting
Something special
Bring em roses
Sing them blues

And the world still so wild called to me
I'd been caught, I was lost on my knees

I looked full over all the lies and
Appealing to me advertising
And I was living tight every night

And the world still so wild called to me
I was lost I'd been kept on my knees
And the world still so wild called to me

Why is this band not a global phenomenon? On the other hand - I am glad they arent and they dont feel the need to to be trendy or stadium anthem like. They can just be Spoon.

Opening bid is an instant 8, but pretty sure further listens will up the ante
Glad to hear this over Hardest Cut
Great song from an incredible album...this record is great from start to finish.
yeah - Spoon is awesome… every time
This song and spoon is so good!
great beginning..
It;s goood!!
This is a great song off of a fantastic album. Saw them live for the first time at The Sylvee in Madison, WI this past summer. What an amazing live band. SO GOOD! Go see them if you have the chance. You will not be disappointed.
I had to give this a 10 because the songs before were so bad. Never have said this before.
Daaaaaamn, this is so good. Spoon just keeps getting better!
Thanks RP for making me go listen to spoon after many years of keeping them in the backlog of my music collection.
What a great album, those dirty guitars... Go listen to the whole thing please
I just can't get enough of their clanging guitars, their angsty vocals, their driving rhythms, and their endlessly clever lyrics!
My favourite track off this album. Driving beat, perfect build to the guitar solo, and over while you still want more. Also, doesn't hurt that it's the first song my 3 year old starting singing along to in the car.

Solid.  No more, no less.
Magnificent album.  Gets the award from this Office for favourite of this year so far.  Last few years, in fact.  Thanks RP.

Such a great album! This cut is excellent.

would like to read the lyrics before rating...

Seriously, I didn't think they could do better than Hot Thoughts. No way they could top that I thought. I was wrong. I got this album and must have listened to it no less than a dozen times in a row before forcing myself to listen to something else. Do yourselves a favor and go pick it up! It's just that good.
I thought Spoon had topped out with "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga," but they have continued to get better and better.

Such a great album! This cut is excellent.
