Cowards, here's the sun
So bow your heads
In the absence of bombs
Draw your breath

Dark, dark places shall be none
She's melting houses of gold
And the kids cry out

We're spitting off the edge of the world
Out in the night
Never had no chance
Nowhere to hide
Spitting off the edge of the world
Out comes the sun
Never had no chance
Nowhere to run

Mama, what have you done?
I trace your steps
In the darkness of one
Am I what's left?
Silver lines whisper to me
Wounded arms must carry the load
And the kids cry out

We're spitting off the edge of the world
Out in the night
Never had no chance
Nowhere to hide
We're spitting off the edge of the world
Nowhere to run
Never had no chance
Out comes the sun
Spitting off the edge of the world
Winds from the sky
Never had no chance
Will watch us rise

Sometimes you just can't explain why a song touches you. This is one of those.

Especially those songs that touch you inappropriately.
evokes early emo bands like Kitchens Of Distinction

I really dig the creativity and fearless evolution of this group.  Seems like they are mastering the game at the moment; hot sparks! and good for them, they deserve it, and Good Heavens, how I love the wild and pithy punch of >HER VOICE<

everything you just stated
And the kids cry out...
DANG! Being unfamiliar with this group, I've always heard, "SITTING ON the edge of the world," so when I happened to check the lyrics, they weren't what I was expect-orat-ing.

Might be why I like it so much
Reminds me of Future Islands
Never had no chance

So they had a chance?  Sounds like things weren't all that bad.
i love her voice.
I know some of y’all dig this, but I’m tired of hearing it so often.  It could stand to skip a few rotations.
Is that the bass line?!? Wicked!
just here to love on this song and to also appreciate the guest spot by Perfume Genius, who se voice is equally haunting to Karen O’s.
Check out interview with lead singer talking to The First Time on BBC Sounds - if you can. A sweetie.
Yummmmm!
This album is SO bloody fantastic. You simply HAVE to give it some attention. Bravo, RP for featuring. 🙏
Something off  _The Lost Boys_ soundtrack?
Well, I don’t know. I’m going to try to get through this. I like some of the elements. Meh.

A pre-release single is an industry norm...can we just all get over it?  It's become the RP comment board equivalent of saying "have a nice day" after a store purchase.   It's pointless and mundane...

Let's all make a pact to discuss the music, emotions and our relationship with art of the  musicians...

um, needs more cowbell
i dig this.
GRRRR Baby! This Kicks Hard
Me likey!
Maybe I shouldn't take it so literally...

Spitting Off the Edge of the World might work if the flat-earthers are right - but would it be possible to spit at escape velocity? Would it stay together at those speeds? So many questions...

Maybe I should just enjoy this  tune...
Never got into their older stuff, but this is just outstanding.
Magnificent
A very good song. Long live RP.
Me likey -instant 8.

I liked this song the first time I heard it, unfortunately I've now heard it about four dozen times in the past few weeks. Every time I get in my car, it's always being played on a certain satellite radio station. Now it's here on RP. Ugh.

Liked the song and artists. But after continuous airplay on RP, it prompts me to do the dishes.

saw-tooth guitar and a wall of synth pads... gotta love the melancholic overtones/undertones of a very very tasty song! Well done!

I vividly remember where I will be on the release date.
Karen's voice always draws me to the high numbers on the rating scale
Originally gave this a six but the more I listen the more the beat really sticks with me...  Also, just to be a jerk I played this song to my class (I teach history) when we started talking about Columbus which was a nice hook.
