Frankly, I was always under the impression that Americans did deep-fried doughnuts as well or better than anybody else so..... unless you are lookin for "eh?" at the end of the sentence or about (aboot) pronounced in a strange way — no guarantees if the workforce is local — then you might be a bit disappointed.

Hard to imagine opening a donut shop anywhere there's ever been a Krispy Kreme. 

The sandwiches were maybe above Arby's but not Panera. That's all I got. Been to a Tim Horton's 3 times, maybe 4.

They're weird critters.  My grandparents used to have a cabin near Grand Teton Nat'l Park, and I spent a lot of time there while growing up.  The moose liked to eat the rubber spline that held the screens into the windows, so every once in a while you'd walk past a window and be eye-to-eye with the thing.
 
My dad and I drove behind a cow once while she ran up the road at 25-30mph, completely unconcerned about us while her strides kept time with the music on the truck's stereo.

Many moons ago, when we were poor students, hubby was doing a practicum with IBM in Calgary one summer, and I took the Greyhound out to see him for a weekend. The competely packed bus stopped for a meal break in Roger's Pass and I took a sandwich out into a field next to the highway to sit in the sun and get some space.

Well, you know how sometimes you just get the feeling that someone is looking at you? I look up and there is a frickin'  giant moose not 4 feet from me with his head down and sniffing towards my sandwich.
Immediately my mind goes into overdrive thinking what the hell am I supposed to do with a moose? Do I run? Do I play dead? What the....? Aaargh!
So I gently toss my sandwich towards him, which he sniffs at and then promptly loses interest and turns and lumbers away.
Now, I was sitting on the ground, but I am sure that animal was over 6 feet tall at the shoulder and he had a rack on him big enough to scoop my entire being into the air should he have chosen to.
Damn near pooped my drawers

I've just realized that all the cold north winds, snow and winter storm systems we have in the US are imports from Canada! So, I think a big, sarcastic "Well, thank you, Canada!" is in order.
