I'm looking forward to the whole album. It's like, "Okay, Rhiannon, you've done a lot of exploration, can you even do a pop song?"
and she says "sure, but the banjo stays."
Gonna be fun to watch the label-makers try to decide Americana? Soul? Country?
Yeah, aside from being such a gifted musician and singer, she's so knowledgeable of music history and so many different genres that she'd be hard to pin down to just one.

Just looked up Devon online...he's (formerly) a local (Philly area). Went to West Chester University, where I've had a few friends/their kids/our kids' friends graduate.
No choice but to like it.
how cool!
my best friend's daughter went to WCU for a bit, too.
yes, that's true. i think i heard it first during the beginning of the pandemic. thought of it yesterday, then looked them (him?) up and listened to some other tracks. i really liked it. to each their own, i guess.
hope you have a good experience with devon. i think i first heard him around the same time - early 2020.

Black Puma's song "colors" was everywhere I went a few years ago. I think they won a Grammy for it (or were at least nominated). The rest of the album was OK.
I'll look into Devon...thx

i went down a music rabbit hole last night. i'm not sure if either of these are played on RP (haven't looked) but i'm just crazy about them.
Black Puma
and
Devon Gillfillian
there's a hint of Al Green and some Cee-Lo, too.
