You're saying I've got
Got a lot, lot of nerve
To say that we could
We could be friends
You're thinking I'm just
Another one telling lies
Don't want to be fooled
Fooled again
When you always go your way
And I always go mine
Maybe one day we'll come together
Go across the great divide
I heard somebody
Calling you a bad name
I was speechless
Didn't say anything to him
Next time I swear
It's gonna be different
I promise not to be silent again
And you always go your way
And I always go mine
Maybe one day we'll come together
Go across the great divide
And I always cross to the other side
But I go back every time
Maybe one day we'll come together
Go across the great divide
I saw a bombed aisle
Heard a gunshot ring
Saw two matchsticks burn
Felt the bedsheets sting
Ugly words on a wall
And a robe in flames
I saw a little boy smile
When the clouds did move away
And you always go your way
And I always go mine
Maybe one day we'll come together
Go across the great divide
Got a lot, lot of nerve
To say that we could
We could be friends
You're thinking I'm just

Always good to hear Bruce. More would be fine for me. The Noisemakers are terrific in concert and Bruce's piano skills really shine.

I've uploaded a couple more of his from this album (Resting Place and Sneaking Up on Boo Radley), but they're still in the LRC queue. Noticed there were also quite a few other Hornsbys that still haven't made it out of LRC. What's up, Bill? No love for Bruce?
This is a great album (and this is actually one of the weaker tracks on it). I would love to hear more of it (or any Hornsby) on RP....

Me too. I grew up close to where he's from (Williamsburg, VA) and have listened to him since I was a teenager. HIs sound reminds me a lot of home.

Just like Spinal Tap's drummers, a position that's strangely hard to fill.

Do you reserve 1 and 2 for those that are more lame than the lamest of the lame? Or maybe just for the lamest of the more lame?
I'm confused....
Simple: Lamest of lame is still better than sucko-barfo. . .

Yeah, well, that's what playing with lighters will get you.

More interesting than his Circus on the Moon stuff, I guess. And the album art is way more better.

Those horns are just too friggin cheerful for me.
Ditto, I have always found ol'Hornsby to be just a little toooo polished and overproduced. No offense to anyone, but I like my hornsbies more tarnished.

That's the way to experience him. He did the same show here a couple of years ago. Folks were taking their requests up to the stage on small slips of paper from the moment he came on. Almost the entire show was requests.
It was cool.
Yeah, what he said!
Years ago my best friend took me to see BH, as a birthday present, and she had him play a song for me, and dedicate it to me. VERY cool!
Brilliant!
Best Hornsby song ever. Now let's add some from Hot House and his new one! Please??
BRUUUUUCE
Thanks Bill

High musical quality, interesting lyrics and a catchy hook...par for the course for the excellent Mr. Hornsby.

Bruce Hornsby can do no wrong!

Hadn\'t heard Bruce in years.(Outta the loop Deadhead-wise, always thought nothing ever again compared to \"Live Dead\". Is \"Saint Stephen on the playlist ?) Any how, I\'ll check it out. Liked Bruce from the start.
