The jobs I keep, the people I meet
Don't do more than make me amused
Everywhere I turn now, just more bad news
So don't look now and don't ask how
We're gonna find our way back to the Animal Zoo
Oh no, something went wrong
Well you're much too fat and a little too long
Hey hey, you got too much to lose
Gotta find your way back to the Animal Zoo
Looking at my body, I'm slipping down
The air I breathe, the water I drink
Is se lling me short and turning me round
Everyone I see now on their way too
So don't look now and don't ask how
We're gonna find our way back to the Animal Zoo
Oh no, something went wrong
Well you're much too fat and a little too long
Hey hey, you got too much to lose
Gotta find your way back to the Animal Zoo
Two in a row. That's the spirit!!
glad these were played back to back. so fun!
Thanks Bill for this twofer from this classic album. Spirit is rarely heard on conventional classic rock radio and yet it is one of the defining albums of the early 70s classic rock era. This came out when I was in my first year of college and my roommate and I played the 12 Dreams of the Dr. continuously while indulging in the sweet weed.
I though something got weird and my web page didn't update, but no, it's just our excellent DJs doing what commercial radio won't do....thanks guys.
I may have to drag this out again, indulge in some of the above noted sweet weed and give the vinyl a spin again for the first time.

I was in junior high when I bought this album and I was, and still am, sure this is the coolest album I ever owned! These boys rocked!!!
A major player in my formative years.
Imagination was everywhere in 1970.
Great tune!

Is that a cough drop?
No, when you cough, they don't drop.
Still trying to parse this.

Back to back Spirit! I love it when Bill plays a twin spin sound sandwich.
...O ya
And again today! I'm diggin' it!
I'll third that!

Not sure what "best forgettable" means.
Lots of incarnations of this band.
It's surprising how long it took for someone to post that astute response.
Nobody wanted to be Captain Obvious, I guess.
Indeed. Great one. I like other songs on it better than this one, but it is all good.
Poor little guy.

Spirit - Animal Zoo
Spirit - Nature's Way
4:33 . . . 4.36 . . come on clock
Randy California sounds a lot like Burton Cummings, or visa versa. Spirit never received the recognition for their
innovation in instrumentation (Page ripped California off) or even the quality of their music. This album should be considered one of the top 10 cut during the 60/70's era. Had they stuck together and continued writing/playing they would most likely have the recognition groups like U2, The Dead, and even Zep have attained. But then again, you know about opinions......
The desert contingency somewhat agrees.... mostly...mainly....kinda....ok, not really, but what a concept.
That's what.... oh, never mind.
QFT.

Play that tambourine!
Good fun, thanks for playing the sequence.
The Dead or the Fugs!
That's because of what a Palaeontologist might call a "mising link": it's the classical Bo-Diddley-groove.
I'd love to listen to Future Games right now.
R.I.P. Randy California and John Locke
hmmmmm, that gets me to wondering of there is any connection with the John Lock character on the Lost T.V. show.
Mr. Skin indeed...
Play Mr. Skin!
my first time hearing this... could have been released last week
Probably the thing about some of the best music of the past, is that it still sounds fresh today.
As opposed to a human zoo, which is actually what the song is about.
