I might be movin' to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a crop of
Dental Floss

Raisin' it up
Waxen it down
In a little white box
That I can sell uptown

By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Well I just might grow me some bees
But I'd leave the sweet stuff
To somebody else . . . but then, on the other hand Iwould

Keep the wax
N' melt it down
Pluck some Floss
N' swish it aroun'

I'd have me a crop
An' it'd be on top (that's why I'm movin' to Montana)

Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a Dental Floss tycoon (yes I am)
Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune

I'm pluckin' the ol'
Dennil Floss
That's growin' on the prairie
Pluckin' the floss!
I plucked all day an' all nite an' all
Afternoon . . .

I'm ridin' a small tiny hoss
(His name is MIGHTY LITTLE)
He's a good hoss
Even though
He's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
He's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
Any way

I'm pluckin' the ol'
Dennil Floss
Even if you think it is a little silly, folks
I don't care if you think it's silly, folks
I don't care if you think it's silly, folks

I'm gonna find me a horse
Just about this big,
An' ride him all along the border line

With a
Pair of heavy-duty
Zircon-encrusted tweezers in my hand
Every other wrangler would say
I was mighty grand

By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Well I might
Ride along the border
With my tweezers gleamin'
In the moon-lighty night

And then I'd
Get a cuppa cawfee
N' give my foot a push . . .
Just me 'n the pygmy pony
Over the Dennil Floss Bush

N' then I might just
Jump back on
An' ride
Like a cowboy
Into the dawn to Montana

Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon

GREAT!! ICONIC!!  May Frank Rest In Peace!  Thanx RP!
From "Hall of the Mountain King" to raising dental floss. Only on RP.
A token of his extreme!
Today is International Coffee Day!
And every morning I have Kicking Horse 454 Horse Power Dark Roast, brewed extra strong...

And I have NO IDEA what any of that has to do with this song, except maybe horses, and coffee.

I was walking down the street jamming to RP and this song came on and I just .. fell down! Cause I had tripped on big old box of 'WTF'!!
1973 !!!!!!!!
Frank Zappa; amazing songwriter/musician and Dental Floss Tycoon!!
What a nostalgic trip back in time this song just took me on!  A bunch of university stoner cohorts blasting LPs on my Thorens turntable, course smoking copious amounts of whatever Mexican wacky tobacky we could rustle up, and taking requests for the next album.  One of these cohorts was a Zappa freak - even looked just like him.  I believe he had Zappa's entire collection, and since this one had just been released it was frequently his request.  Whenever this song came on, we all sang along with as much gusto as we could muster, much to the ire of non-Zappa followers on our residence floor.  Fast-forward 45+ years and I once again found myself belting out the lyrics.  Had to rate it a "9" for that reason, alone.  (Probably annoyed the neighbors, too.)
This is one of the first Zappa tunes I heard outside of his famous Joe's Garage album.  I didn't like it much, but have heard it times over since and it has grown on me.  For those of us who like Zappa, we believe that he was a musical genius.  If not, respect him for sticking to music and not allowing his band members to go off the deep end with drugs and alcohol.  He was on the cutting edge and I miss him.  He was stolen from this planet far too soon!
I’ve been saving this song in my head since ’75 just in case I ever get around to moving to Montana we be singing yippee-ty-o-ty-ay all the way there.
Brilliant.!!! Genius!!!

No other.

His music is better than it sounds :-)
2. still holding my one in case nickelback shows up.  sorely tempted.
Labeling this as unique does not begin to give it its rightful due.  I can't think of anything else right now.  Frank has captured all the creativity in the room -- per usual.
Edvard Grieg, then this, and it FKING works! Dayyyum, Bill!
{#Devil_pimp}zesty ! set that hagstrom on fire frank rip

What does that even mean?
Bottom dropped our of the dental floss market.

Replaced by weed.

The invisible hand of the market.  Yet our teeth cry out!

At least we can still use our tweesers.
Need a 0 rating for this garbage.
Whoa! Thanx for that. The memories...
Yippy-Y-O-Ty-Ay!
WOAH!  Overnight Sensation
Most excellent. FZ composing commercial works!
Always inspirational: Méditations on western migration, agricultural entrepreneurship and the primal pleasures/satisfaction of equine companionship, quality tools and good coffee.
this is painful.
Great!

Now cue up "Don't Fool Yourself"

I double dog dare you.

OK I'll be the one to say it: Zappa made some decent and really interesting music, but his lyrics have been quite juvenile or silly on so many tracks. For example on Joe's Garage, where he did some very cool music and made some funny and yes, valid observations but got carried away at several points.

I think with Zappa it was like with horror movies, where the initial shock value of blood and gore can work in well-placed, smaller amounts, but it's easy to overuse and make something a total gross-out. Zappa always struck me as someone who became desensitized to his own more extreme methods, and just laid it on thicker and heavier as he went.

I get his sarcasm and poking fun at society and government and I'm definitely all for that, but a little of Zappa's kind goes a long way. He could have made his point, perhaps emphasize it a bit and then move along (which I think would have been more effective), but in so many tunes he just beats something to death and it gets embarrassing to listen to after the first minute or so. It's like he was writing for freshmen in high school.

Funny, I was a bigger fan of Zappa as a Freshman in High School than I am as an middle aged adult. Your observation is spot on.

Classic Zappa. How about some Dinah Moe Humm.
I like Zappa but this one bites
Down by the dental floss bush! Great memories. I remember heading north in a sky blue caddy convertable with my crazy friends singing this song until it made us sick. Go Frank, We Miss You. Samiyam
This song just gets worse every time I hear it. Could we hear something else from Zappa instead? Please?
