Give your heart to a stranger
Turn your back on a friend
Walk away, unafraid of the end
Hang the day on a promise
Breaking overhead
The pieces fall, they haven't cut me yet
Dare me to watch your moon
Disappear into a trembling night
The end could feel allright

Through a window, open every door
No use holding on

Go on into, go all of you
Let me be, let me be
Released

Now you are a stranger
We'll never talk again
But you're everywhere, all we could've been
Whatever I hoped to find
The answer or the perfect lie
I let it pass me by

We share the pain, some rise again
Let me be, let me be
Released

I generally do not like Folk Implosion much, but this gets a 6 from me.

sounds like someone has been listening to a bit of Tool and Perfect Circle.

Also Toad the Wet Sprocket

Yikes, never heard Folk Implosion sound like this.  Didn't know they were capable.  A bad sounding Snow Patrol.

Almost my exact thoughts, although I was thinking "why is RP playing Staind?" {#Stupid}

Lou Barlow has a pretty wide range of influences and sounds; it wouldn't be surprising if he had listened to Maynard's music.

I had to look up sivert hoyem, I thought it was going to be a cool yiddish expression.  Oops.

Yeah! Nice bed of sound. Sweet stuff, Bill.

I love this comment. So true! It's happened to me so many times: just when I'm getting ready to shut the computer down, another great song comes on RP, and there I sit, mesmerized.

Yes. I've delayed making a phone call because a great song just came on...hmm...I'll just twiddle my thumbs and bask in this tune for a moment. {#Meditate}
good tune

That's true. If you are looking for truly off the beaten path stuff, try Other Music in NYC:(click here)
...and, no, I don't work for them or have anything to do with them other than getting email newsletters from them and occasionally buying CDs from them.

Thanks for the link. Looks like a pretty cool website.

Not another good RP song....I've got to leave the office. Play some Bon Jovi so I can leave my PC and go home!

Never heard of Folk Implosion. Really like what I'm hearing thus far. What a great name for a band, too. Way to go, Bill!

"Two Vedder songs in a row?" I thought when this first came on. But then it played on. I like. I'll have to go find out more about this group. Nice choice.
Interesting....never heard this one before. Quite likeable!

I had no problem getting it. Maybe Bethesda just has crappy selection?
I've pretty much given up on finding music at "commercial outlets." Almost all of the small "mom and pop" record stores (with two notable exceptions) here have been driven out of business by the large corporate stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, Target, etc). Finding anything off of the beaten path at any of these stores is a chore.

Why is it so hard to find this CD in the standard commercial outlets? Is the band getting no support from their label?

Reminiscent in the faster parts of Coldplay ("God Put A Smile Upon Your Face") and in the slower of Toad the Wet Sprocket. Cool tune, all around.

Cool, I bought the CD after hearing "Pearl" on here, and this is one of my favourites of off it!
Same here, I have really enjoyed this CD. If this is "trite" Lou Barlow, then I need to get the other Folk Implosion albums. Of course, I must confess to a collection of allegedly trite CD's so you may not consider me a credible source of judgment on this one. Honestly, I'm not even really sure what the definition of trite is though I suspect it is a synonymous with a statement of some kind that lacks some kind of depth of content based on an arbitrary criteria. Not that anyone should care about what I think is arbitrary.
I like Lou Barlow\'s work in general but this album is crap. Trite, boring.
They have become my new favorite group. Thanks RP
Didn\'t I hear Spike singing this on the \"Buffy: The Musical\" cd?
I sure like this. But is it me... or .... does this sound one hell of a lot like Tragically Hip?
Turd? I say-- nay, nay! This is most excellent stuff.
These guys are growing on me. I gave them a nine for this song.
