Nice one. I'd go for 'Surfing With The Alien' too...the song every DJ plays to seem cool (not that you need it)!

This makes me want to play Command and Conquer: Red Alert!
is he from the pittsburgh area? i'm not sure why i think that...
Soundscape.
Why does this remind me of the background of the Command & Conquer video game?
Apparently I am a philistine because I had only come across Joe playing on this Neil Young cover with Grace Potter++. But it's pretty great stuff ...
Cortez the Killer
Cortez the Killer
I'm not normally a huge Satriani fan, but I really like this one.
Would prefer Scofield or Metheny over Satriani, but still Joe has his unique stile and explores the musical periphery in a very likeable way.

In quite every album of this guy, you can find 1 or 2 jewels.
This one you chose Bill is a good one. Thanks.

Joe Satriani has made tremendous contribution to getting digital effects / pedals and software, higher up , on the international guitar scene with younger generations. While the older gen prefer big box tube / solid state guitar amps with full range speaker cones . He definitely helped me get my mind to understanding, the importance of blending, both tech genres, of old school amps / digital amp modelling and various software plugins techniques, for creating new, mind blowing sounds, in the mix at my recording studio.
Now and then i pick one of his many name sake guitars, to get those luscious lightening strike notes, combined with, aptly timed slow hand, power chord shredding, tone-licious harmonic melts, to delight my listening staff and patrons. Thank you Joe for teaching me so much more than just playing great guitar !

I quite regularly play guitar along with RP and it seems to me than more often than by chance, sequential songs play in same key (these in D minor). Is it a co-incidence, or is Bill playing guitar, too?

Nice sonic transition from John Hammond to this. The ending and staring notes are the same.

Not much of a fan of the guitar work here, but a little fiddling with the equalizer brings out a bottom end that's pretty fantastic. I'm too lazy to look up the keyboard, bass and drummer, but they work together very well.

A steady diet of this kind of thing does nothing for me (and there are certainly a number of streaming feeds that cater to screaming guitar-heads if you disagree). In small doses however, such as what RP provides, it's not all that bad.
