He's good technically but he ain't Tommy Emmanuel (I wonder if they've played together?).

And I have a morbid curiosity to know something about them. What makes them a hateful eight? How could anyone hate on this?
People rank songs for different reasons. Personally I gave this a 1 because while I appreciate the technical chops, I don't want to hear it. I don't hate it, I just find it immensely boring.

If you like trying to work out how an accomplished guitarist does several voices together, try
What he does from 2:40 on puzzles me - and I've seen him do it live. Don't get put off by his voice!
Perhaps the best guitarist around today. Any finger picker could tell ya that.

Yep, that's why we're all here listening to RP. They find all the stuff FM radio stations won't play, and they play all the other tracks from artists we know and love. Oh, and the occasional hit we do know.
How come I ain't heard this fellow before.

Reminds me about the quality of musicality. Quite alright feeling. I can not give anything less than 8.6.
HOW in the F is this one person?
How is this not a cover of Van Halen (covering John Brim)?

I'm not sure I could take a whole lot of Doyle Dykes at one sitting - just too rich. But this song is a joy and a pleasure and I appreciate the way Bill and Rebecca have worked this into the playlist. Good work, Goldsmiths!

Saw Doyle Dykes play about 15 years ago, as part of a guitar promo (Hamer i think) he blew my socks off, with his relentless fingerstyles, and in particular, his rendition of Phil Collins "Thats All" its still on rotation in the car. well worth a listen. this piece doesnt show him to his full potential.
Reminds me of how jazzy Pentangle have always sounded to me.

This guy is amazing in concert-A little preachy but hey whatever works.
Bill's hittin' on all cylinders today. If I was wearing a hat right now I'd take it off.

Is there anywhere else to buy this CD without having to pay $45 at Amazon?
Never mind, I found it on his website (of all places).

Love me some good fingering!
One of the best mornings sets ever on RP!
Awesome song!!!!!!!!
Much too awesome for a simple string of ones and zeroes. There has to be some twos and threes in there somewhere.

So Bill's been on an introspective acoustic guitar binge today. I can deal quite happily with that. :D
This tune is a little gem though, never heard it before (once again, RP works its wonders on my music knowledge!) and it even got the other people in the office saying "hey, what's this track?"
Smoothly done, once again. 10/10.

Doyle Dykes is a master! His daughter "Miss Haley" is also a brilliant vocalist out of Nashville. They do shows together. I saw him at a University concert back in 1997. Just brilliant stuff.

Awesome! From 9 to 10 on second hearing, takes a bit to comprehend exactly what is happening!
This is Doyle Dykes. His home is Cleveland TN. I have met him a few times and had a chance to pick some guitar with also. He is an amazing talent and church going gentleman. You watch this guy play you say to yourself I got to go home and practice or sell the guitars and find interest elsewhere. Bill please update the artist name and thanks for playing Doyle on RP. PH
