It's the perfect time of day
It's the last day of your life
Dont let it drift away
While your heart is still racing
It's the perfect time of day
And you wont feel a thing
And you wont recall anything at all
Close your eyes
And take your last breath
Rest your head and sigh
The end is the beginning
And every point between
Some are lost, some are lost
And you wont feel a thing
And you wont recall anything at all
Let your colors collide
All the time is so fleeting
I quit running behind
I know your meaning
You look too far
For what you wanna say
And you look for
The perfect time of day
And you wont feel a thing
And you wont recall anything at all
It's the last day of your life
Dont let it drift away
While your heart is still racing
It's the perfect time of day
And you wont feel a thing
And you wont recall anything at all
Close your eyes
And take your last breath
Rest your head and sigh
The end is the beginning
And every point between
Some are lost, some are lost
And you wont feel a thing

Such an earnest song. I know it's trying very hard to say something. I think.
extra ordinary... formulaic and bland too.
I'm going to have to agree this is 'Formula Rock' or 'InocuRock' - go ahead and put one in the back of my head it would be less painful- thank God people hate this crap.
This song is nothing short of amazing. Yeah it's produced -- but as long as the talent is there (which in this case, it clearly is) production's not a bad thing.
Any update on the charges against this man?
"According to the criminal complaint, town of Madison police were called to Day's tour bus at the Alliant center at about 1:30 a.m. after Day allegedly locked a women in a bathroom on the bus for refusing a sexual advance. He then broke the cell phone of another woman trying to call police."
(now added to the mute list)
I think he has actually eclipsed Mellisa Etheridge with the belting out of the 'rock-n-roll' you, at the end of this song.

OK so wil I...5 it is.
I'm in following mode.......5. If you don't like U2, there's no way you're gonna like this and I'm just not a U2 fan. Sorry, Bono. (Second time around this sounds like a "2" - as in U2!)
Wow. A ClearChannel Adult Alterna-sound. Too bad I'm not at work. Good office music, no?

I'll give it 5.
I saw Howie open for Tori to. He was pretty darn good- just himself. Perfect Time Of Day was better live with just him....this song sounds a little over produced now- not as raw...But its still ok.
I like this song.

The third most talented Howie I know behind Howie Long and Howie Mandell.
I heard Howie Day opening for Barenaked Ladies last night in Charlotte, and he and his band were very good. He has an incredible organist. I was moved to up my rating for this song and take off the rude comment I had made earlier (sorry, Howie).
This "song" has been done before. Better then, too.
Has a manufactured, paint-by-numbers sound to my ears.
Blandly inoffensive...which of course makes it blatantly offensive.
Isn't this theme music for "The Gap" or some clothing store in the mall...or somethin...?

I saw him a couple of times opening for Tori Amos last tour.....he was very entertaining. In general he'd start playing some guitar lick or using his guitar as a drum....sample that then start doing a new part...with technology he became a one man band. Nothing I've heard since impressed me as much as that....mostly because I only got the first album, and I don't think there was a single song on there that he played live (or it was so different I didn't recognize it).

I also saw Howie a few times touring with Tori, then a few more times recently touring for the new album. It's a completely different performance now with a band. He abandoned the pedals and is playing straight. Nothing wrong with trying to expand on his sound, but I miss the simplicity of just him. I really hope he'll consider a bandless, acoustic tour sometime soon!
Can I please have the last three minutes of my life back? Ewww.

Even though I have been hearing on the radio around here for a bit I still dig it. But it does bother me that his name is Howie Day and his title is Perfect time of Day. Is he talking about himself?
More Howie, please! Why won't you guys take my uploads? :(
