Got to find that movie at the library
Did you find it? Did you hate yourself for watching it?

Yeah, that's the place; scratch it good...

I had never heard this song until I got the Northern Exposure soundtrack!

Love Steve Cropper - one of my all-time favorite guitar players.

(And the thing you're probably referring to is the Leslie rotating speaker. Click here for a most excellent 4-minute educational video.)
Hammond B3. Greg Allman's signature instrument. Sad that it was 'killed', some of the 'old timers' still swear by them. I'm one of them.

Luckily they were never exterminated, just endangered. They've been making a come-back over the last 10 years. Of course, if you've ever had to roadie one of those things(hernia), you can understand why so many players switched to synths in the 70's & 80's.

Ahhh - the unique sound of an electric organ... Technology created it and then killed it off. Are we glad or sad...

Damn! I can't work with this funky stuff playing!
Talk about happy feet... I got my speakers cranked up to 11.
I first heard this on the Northern Exposure television show soundtrack. It turned me on to Booker T and the MGs. They played the Ottawa Blues Festival a few years back - amazing set!
Nice to hear some of the early funk/R&B from Stax. How about some Meters?
