Do yourself a favor and see this band live. I've seen them 6-8 times, and they put on an amazing show that will also have you laughing out loud for 2 hours!

I'll second that! A few years ago at one of their concerts in a small venue in Charlotte, I was near the stage, with dancing girls throwing chicken nuggets, and one lands in my beer.... bottle! What an energetic an fun show. My ex-brother-n-law almost danced.

I saw them once when he had a full drum set and was sitting down. They were awesome that night (but of course they are every time I see them).

Agreed. Seeing them live several times was always unforgettable. First time I saw them was in a tiny club that had no stage and a concrete floor, called Fuzzy Duck's in Greensboro, NC, in 1990. Instant fan. The drummer looked like a mini Elvis and played standing up.
The day I tire of SCOTS is the day I should be "put down".

Someone turned loose the Mad Phantom of the Rock Opera and pumped him on Dick Dale's special caffeine sauce.

Hell yea!!
Too slow; would prefer to hear an up-tempo version.
Groovy man!
Real fun. Fast too!
The acronym for this band is SCOTS... these folks rock... this song surf rocks...

Surf's up, y'all!
Seen SCOTS several times over the years - always a strong rock show, and a real hoot with their antics (fried chicken tossed to the audience, costumes, etc). Plus great rocka-punka-surfa-billy tunage.
I really like surf guitar...
Rick Miller is the MAN!

Mr. Dale would say HE is the ONLY person who plays 'real' surf guitar. Ego? What ego?

Actually, I'm in Indiana, the anti-coast. Unless you include Lake Michigan, which I don't. Stupid lake effect snow.

Can anyone tell me how the whole album is? Is it all surf sound stuff? Any other albums you'd recommend byt he same band or similarsounding bands?
Hmm. Well, "Dirt Track Date" is probably their most popular, and rightly so. It's a great listen. Personally I prefer "Ditch Diggin'" but really they're all good. Along a similar lines of country/blues/punk influenced craziness, I'd highly recommend "those Legendary Shack Shakers" - probably the wildest band playing right now. As far as good contemporary surf goes: Los Straitjackets, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, the Halibuts (my personal favorite), Laika and the Cosmonauts, Dick Dale (still putting out quality new stuff), and oh so many others. For a nice sampling of what's out there, I recommend "Attack of the New Killer Surf Guitars."
