It’s happened a number of times that when I hear something here that I’m not familiar with and when I check who the artist is, it turns out to be Bonobo.

Surely you mean "this song don't go nowhere?"

Better report that to the office of redundancy office!
Love this! Every song today has been an amazing new discovery for me. Thanks, RP!
The RP is hitting right this afternoon.

I found stuff like this absolutely entrancing in the y2k era. It sounded like the thoughtful worldly place I was longing for. Something like a gritty street in a beautiful city, peaceful in the middle of the night. I don't know quite how to articulate what I mean, but I miss that feeling.

Typically, I'm a fan of Simon's stuff, but this particular track just seems to meander around without much purpose...

Turtles aren't whales!  We could do this forever!
I've just watched the concert in the Alexandra Palace in London this morning, which blew me completely away :)
Originally, I gave this a 7 but just bumped it up to 8. What can I say? It grows on you.

On a tangent to this, the Brit SF writer Brian Aldiss wrote, back in the 1961, a novella called The Primal Urge,
about Brit society where everyone had to wear 'emotional registers' on
their foreheads, metal discs which would glow increasing shades of pink
and red when the person was sexually aroused. A fascinating, funny and
wickedly satirical thought experiment, and worth a read IMO.
Wow. I remember reading Brian Aldiss back in the day.

. . . maybe that is why I wear an illuminated red throbbing codpiece to show my level of arousal for Mrs Poacher.

(Oh, and Bonobo. . . a constant on playlists on our house - magnificent stuff!)

Sadly, we bid farewell to Squiddly and fredriley, who succumbed to bonobo poisoning recently. They will be missed. Please be careful what you eat.
There's a note in this song that sounds just like my Slack notification and it is driving me batty :)

Otherwise, pretty decent tune!

Dude, RP is good for sleeping and not sleeping. Let me tell you the number of times RP's been on during, well, "sleeping", with my girlfriend, lol. 37 (and counting; but we don't always have it on :).

It can't, since it's not even sung.

So if you don't enjoy layered sound structures for what they are, it's definitely not your kind of thing.

Nice instramental
Bonobo is cool in person as his music.

Yes yes yes! Bonobo is my jam... Especially as we're approaching the end of my work day. ALL of his music is fantastic, like this.
I wonder if Four Tet has anything to do with this song... sure sounds like them.....
Great groove - never heard of them but like it!
All of the below is wrong.
Sorta boring.
Cool tune with a nice groove.  Good chill-out stuff.

I don't know why, but this track really hits the spot. If you like this I'd really recommend checking out Bonobo. The music is as tight as you like and the production superb.

Talk about creeping up on you: These guys have another song, Koto, that was used in a David Attenborough documentary called "Serpent." They strapped a camera to a python's back and filmed as it climbed a tree and ate a bunch of weaver birds.  Great footage and the song was burned indelibly into my brain for years. I never would've figured out who did it if it wasn't for RP (with a little help from last.fm).

Bono's alter-ego when tripping?

I like this kinda stuff.  Not sure how to rate it.  I like laid back groovy stuff.  *And anything that has to do with monkey like things.

Interesting article in New Yorker not long ago regarding bonobos. Evidently because they are studied almost exclusively in captivity, some question of whether the peace love hippee monkey thing is how they behave in the wild. As the article said, researchers wonder if having nothing to do all day what with living in a cage and being fed there is much to do but hang out and make love. Sort of like being in college.

Oh, fannypk, if you listened to old Peter Gabriel, you'd realize that dionysius wasn't trolling, just making a funny song quote reference.

"you can ape the ape / I know about that!"

This reminds me of that I am Kloot track thats in rotation...

Yes, and it grosses me out to visualize same. Missed the song--actually, failed to notice it. Maybe that is for the best.

As with all music of this type, it goes from mellowly jammin' to sleepy to annoying in the space of about 90 seconds. Which is about 1/20th of the length of the song, typically.
