American Wheeze.  We need that on RP!

Man... green-eyed monster rearing it's ugly head here. Sounds like an awesome show!
What an awful song, thank God its over!
This is so bad, it's comical. It's not only a bad rip off of JM's sound, but it's turgid and so heavy it just sits there, not going anywhere. Bad music on its own, without any comparisons.

You people(not all of you of course) are judging a band having heard only one of their songs.that is absolutely wrong.even if you are a great fan of a band you never like all their songs.i just love 16horsepower and the song that you 've heard is not one of their best.(i can't hear you comparing them with nick cave and morison its crazy)
I think you're crazy for your assumptions about what people are doing here. This isn't the first 16 Horsepower song we've heard on RP, though it may be the first you've heard here. And I totally agree about the Morrison influence -- "The killer awoke before dawn. He put his boots on..." That said, I really like 16 Horsepower and none of the things people have been moaining about here bother me. But that's just me.

I dunno...I listened to lotsa JM as a teen and I don't hear that at all in this song. Completely different kind of music.

A tad bit biased here, aren't we?
In mood: Nick Cave In voice: Jim M. Guitar: chanelling the Edge Groovy gloomy!
I certainly hear more than a bit of Morrison.

Wicked pissah!

OMIGOD this is awful. Sounds like a terrible Doors rip off.

I like these guys. Something dark and deep, foreboding about their music.
This is terrible :-/ Why don't bands understand that a chorus does NOT consist of the same 3 gutteral sounds wailed over and over again through 4 bars? Complete with IDENTICAL guitar backings? Mix it iup a bit, guys. sheesh.
Check out that bassline, wicked! Wailing guitar! Wickeder!

Please cut back on the acid, 16 HP are absolutley a class of their own. I was at a gig they did in Vienna, and they left the whole audience breathless. I don't see any relation to the Doors at all. If you like this, check out Woven Hand, David Eugene Edwards solo band (very similar to 16HP IMHO).

Don't know any of there other stuff, but this song is about as close a jim morrison rip off as I can imagine. Too bad they don't have a robbie krieger or a ray manzerak. At least on this song
Liking this....a mixture of different influences, reminds me of Catherine Wheel meets the Doors
Hmm, first time hearing this one. I find it quite interesting, I'll need to heard it again to determine if I like it or not. But after the first listen, I'd say it deserves a 6... subject to change :)

I'd rather say it sounds like Nick Cave and the bad seeds... But you definitely have to see them live. Great Band
Yeah, Nick and the BS's around the time of 'Tupelo'. 16HP are brilliant ... Gothic cowboys (Regarding seeing them live, I thought they no longer played together ... see website https://www.16horsepower.net/ Woven Hand are touring this summer, though ...

interesting. First 5 seconds thought it was a Led Zepp. single I'd missed. Vocals definitely reminiscent of Robert Plant.

Tremondous Band. Yes an acquired taste. Broad label, alt.country but the goth-folk label has been used as well. RIP APRIL 2005 - They just announced their folding. Singer David Eugene Edwards moves solo to a project called Woven Hand, the other two (names escape me) form Lillium. Their music can seem dark and haunting but always with a powerful gospel overtone. (Edwards father a Nazerene preacher). (P.s ... their are much better selections from this one album than this song)

This too shall pass...
First heard about these guys on NPR about 6 years or so ago. Really like their music, an aquired taste.
what is this? please make the noise go away!

I've missed them the last few times they had been in DC. Hopefully I will get another chance.
