This particular track is 8 or so guitarists, each playing a single note at a time. It's particularly good with headphones, because you can hear each guitar individually.

YES!  Excellent in FLAC, through great equipment.  Thanx RP!
Even thought I primarily listen to RP for the brilliant segues, I am trying out the "My Favorites" channel and I noticed this has not been played in a while. Differently worth a spin Bill & Rebecca.

pret-a-porter comes off looking rather silly after your explanation...

I agree --I could listen to this for hours!
My only possible complaint - the piece doesn't run for long enough!
why are so many people taken with this little prelude? is it because it is one of the least challenging pieces bach ever wrote and everyone remembers it from childhood piano/guitar lessons? let's hear the fugue that follows it - much more interesting musically - or any of the other 47 preludes/fugues in the collection
Lets go back to King Crimson please, this is waste of time
Had high hopes for this one when it first started. Left me soon afterwards. Pity- he/they are capable of so much better.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lovely
The second you hear it, it sounds good. After that it just kinda fades away.
I think that many of you would appreciate this song more if you could see it performed. The League of Crafty Guitarists is (was?) comprised of 6 to a dozen or so musicians, and though Fripp is the "centerpiece" if you will, he does not take the lead other than in a maestro sort of way. This song, as are most of the League's is played in a collabrative effort. It's not just one or two people strumming and picking. Each member playes a piece, sometimes a single note and the result (when seen live) is amazing. It does lose some of it's appeal when simply listened to.

Great, but again I am missing the fuga afterwards.
Me, I'm missing the "Cat's foot, iron claw, neurosurgeon screams for more." Actually I find this rather enjoyable, although there are other pieces by the League that are more interesting/unique. Hard to go wrong with Bach though.
been done better by others
Oooh that was nice, I just caught the last few notes...play it again Sam!

oh yay, fripp can play scales! B O R I N G!!!!!!!!!
Those "scales" are arpeggios. Based on your lack of knowledge, perhaps you should rethink commenting at all. "oh yay, anniebear can post comments! S T U P I D!!!!" That said, I've heard better versions of this lovely Bach piece. Still a 7, IMHO.
not a fan.
hmm, certainly not a very crafty piece.
I can play this on the piano!

This is the sort of technical piece you would use at home to practice your technique. Please don't inflict it on other people. It is just plain boring.
Makes me think of Stuart Smalley: "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and dogonnit, people like me."

scales?
I recently saw Fripp play a solo show where he played his soundscape/sonic wallpaper music. I must admit it was not very good and it sounded like some messed up synthesizer. Absolutely was not guitar music.
Great, but again I am missing the fuga afterwards.

10
Fripp and Co. playing Bach. Niiiiice.
Too short! More of that!
Every song on this album gets an 11!!! Robert Fripp is a legendary musician.
Beautiful. Not what I would picture upon hearing the album name.
