Maybe the years have told you
Do you remember when life was just a new day?
You know the story don't you?
The one you told me when life was drifting away
Aah! look at the brand new day
Sitting here upon the milky way
Aah! look at the dancing girls
Sitting holding hands across the world
You got a brand new lady
Just like the one you left down in some other place
Reading all the letters
Saw your face coming through on the ouija board
Look at the brand new day
Sitting here upon the milky way
Aah! look at the dancing girls
Sitting holding hands across the world
You heard the words of Aaron
He spoke the truth in these things both great and small
If you throw away the ashes
You sweep them over the world on your own accord
If you knew the real answer
You'd see the kind of mistakes that you can't afford

We need some Idle Race.
What a horrible noise.
LOVE that bass!
I keep expecting Frank Zappa, but less funny.

what a waste of a post lol my goodness, Trevc, you are a miserable SOB how many millions has U2 sold? what a clown you are, probably a Der Gopenheimer fan too! lol (that is pussy grabber in america)
Gave this a 7, because although not great it's still better than anything U2 have recorded.

Or you could say that, like Spinal Tap, their appeal has become more...selective.

Let's just say that Jeff Lynne was still growing artistically at this point.

I believe The Move and ELO (essentially the same band) both put out albums the same year - beginning of ELO and end of The Move.

~ I was listening to this, thinking I have no idea who The Move is/are, but jeeze, that vocalist reminds me of Jeff Lynne. Then Bill said it was Jeff Lynne. Oh yeah, I still got it!

Matt Bellamy sure did learn a thing or two from bands like this, eh?
i would have preferred that aaron had kept his mouth shut.

YES!
Why, it's Tull-tastic!
Is that Zamfir sitting in?
This sure is an odd one.
Wow, could have right off of Magician's Birthday....oooh, I'm old!!

Let's hear "California Man"- best damn Move song ever recorded...

Double Huh!!!
Imagine: from the Move to ELO on the playlist! Such a concept! Hello, Susie.
I want to hear Brontosaurus Rock or Eddy's Rock.
why do i think of spinal tap (the stonehedge show) when i hear this song?

and the inevitable "fade to silence followed by the return of gibberish" ending...
Actually, that gibberish is the opening of ELO's Fire On High, which follows this song in one of Bill's playlists.

eGad!!! ends with dueling recorders playing over a sample from Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4"... downgrading my rating (further)...
Well, it predates sampling as such by quite a bit, but we know what you mean.
It kinda grows on me.
Huh?

SPINAL TAP
you nailed it... whatever they're singing about sure sounds like they mean it.
That 60s sound was special.
Sounds like really bad Uriah Heap......or is that redundant?
long beautiful hair... Hair!
Let's hear "California Man"- best damn Move song ever recorded...

I have a fondness for overproduced bombastic 70's art rock. And this is a fine example.
We need to lobby Bill to add something like Stackridge's Slark to show these younguns what bombastic 70's art rock really is...
Or was that more psychedelic? Hard to remember anymore.
And that Cake song two back defines "sucks".
Interesting sound...I like it..

I hear the Tubes too -- "What Do You Want from Life" and other stuff from their first album.
"Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen..."
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Does this take me back!
We've hit a new low.

That's great! Love it!

while its fun to hear an old move track, this is probably the last one I would have picked.
Hello Suzie would have been fun-over the top worked in that one!
Open Up Said the World at the Door, Brontasaurus, Do Ya... All far superior to this one.
Total Jesus Christ Superstar ripoff, er..homage there at the ending.
Though a Jeff Lynne and ELO fan (and sometimes The Move), this song blows. It's obnoxious.
This is one of the reasons I love Radio Paradise. Since the 70's I've heard DJ's describing ELO's song Do Ya as originally done by "The Move." Now I have actually heard a song by "The Move."...firt time ever!
And even with that I have to agree, The Words of Aaron is a pretty crappy song.
That is awful

Rating = -25...
Don't quite remember these guys but that was quite groooovy!
choppin broccoliiii
Sounds like a deleted scene from Rocky Horror Picture Show...

What?!
The Move, I do not believe it?
It is true; The Words of Aaron, it has been awhile ...
I keep forgetting how such awful, over-produced crap came out of the '70s.
But which country? Oh sorry...that's right I should have known..Country in my country means means DEEP country (including C&W but not only) very strong attachment to land from where we came and to where we will go...
kind of like 10cc or the tubes but not as fun.
Not bad-gave it a 7.

It's also a lot better than that terrible Luftballons Nena bollox!
