Some sunny day-hay baby
When everything seems okay, baby
You'll wake up and find out you're alone
Cause I'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone really gone
Gone, gone gone, 'cause you done me wrong

And everyone that you meet baby
As you walk down the street baby
Will ask you why you're walkin' all alone
Why you're on your own
Just say I'm gone
Gone, gone, gone
Gone, gone gone, 'cause you done me wrong

And if you change your way baby
You might get me to stay baby
You better hurry up if ya don't wanna be alone
Or I'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone,
Really gone
Gone, gone gone,
'Cause you done me wrong

Hey, done me wrong

Yeah, yeah, yeah hah hah

Some sunny day-hay baby
When everything seems okay, baby
You'll wake up and find out you're alone
Cause I'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone, really gone
Gone, gone gone,
'Cause you done me wrong
Hmm, you done me wrong
Hmm, you done me wrong
Whaew whaew...

I love that this followed Bron-y-aur Stomp.
Robert and Alison I do believe.
And why not.
Listening here in Sweden in a hotel bar lobby…. and I can’t help grooving along. Charmed duo for sure.
Saw them last week and they were AMAZING. Last night of this leg of their tour, and they sounded perfect. Great backing band too.
a great choice they made to cover this song. it's perfect.

I would have sworn this was written by the Everly Brothers. Catchy!

It was.
I bought the Everly's version mid 60's and still love it, indeed I still have it  :)
It was an EP with 3 other tracks:

That'll Be The Day - Mr Holly
It Only Costs A Dime - which they wrote
The Price of love - which they wrote

Are you asking why Robert Plant always sings like Robert Plant?
no, voice is fine. the random 'vocal flourishes' occasionally spoil otherwise decent tunes for me. the same way some folks dislike hooting or 'whoo-hooing' or whispery vocals. He has an interesting array and talent, certainly.

And you'd be correct.  (I think they do several covers of the Everly Brothers.)

RP occasionally plays Jimmy Page and Jerry Lee doing "Whole lotta love"
   This is fun.

Beautiful! Robert and Allison shakin’ it down.
This doesn't rest easy with my ears.  Skip to Knock, Knock, Knock by Spoon.  Result every time.  No need for a grumpy face.  Thanks again RP.

edit: closely followed by Burn by The Cure today.   Best mix-tape ever.

why is their skin color of any relevance?
Having Alison Krauss singing along with Robert Plant....good times.
Amazing how great Plant's voice has held up over the years...And Alison harmonizing doesn't hurt........

gone gone gone because I hit PSD...
Great new site!

The Everly Brothers should be on Mount Rushmore
Still sounds great to my ears !

Singing along (don't worry, alone, nobody's around)
What an excellent playlist this morning on this side of the world!!
Happy (whatever is the moment of the day in your meridian)!

Seems odd - both have very distinctive and wonderful voices but they're compromised here.
right in through ear and straight to the foot-tappin', head-boppin', back-swayin' switch!

When I first heard this cut--after way too much hype--my first thought was, "Pounding sand." Okay, it's not the best cut on the album, which turned out to be fairly decent. Way too much hype.

Thanks T-Bone.   A wall of sound!!!!

Ouch, hurts. PSD.
Keep it rock'in Bill.

Agreed !  And if you like T-Bone productions then pick up Bruce Cockburn's Nothing But A Burning Light !

Nice to hear again on RP !!
I love every song on this album. Sure, you can claim these are really "basic formula" songs (chord progressions are predictable, that's why you can draw comparisons with so many other songs), but they're performed, arranged and produced SO well.

Easily my fave Plant solo CD. It's great to see he hasn't become a nostalgia act, trotting out the Zep tunes in casinos and Vegas (do we really need a 70-year-old singing about "every inch of my love"?). I respect the fact that he's "done moved on" to this acoustic material that is more appropriate for a singer of his "maturity".  ; )

I've always loved Plant solo - he's explored so many different angles of the music, without being clichéd or worn. I love his collaboration with Krauss, and his Band of Joy. Still love him best with Zep, but at least I haven't heard anything he's done that left me cold. And yes, OTB - I, too, am glad he hasn't dragged the Zep library through the lounge-lizard-liver-spotted casino circuit. Just the thought of that makes me shudder in revulsion. Vegas is usually the end of the line for most big-name rockers who want to draw a paycheck without having to do anything innovative...

Remember 1988? Tall Cool One? Truly embarrassing.

Great production, in line with Mr. Plant's passionate hobby as a musical historian and a dose of Allison Krauss improves anything. Works for me in almost all ways. Can't figure many of the comments here, especially the one about country music. Still, I appear to be in the minority. Nice to be humbly reminded that my peerless judgment is not necessarily universally accepted.

Hate to dilute your epiphany about your judgement, but I agree entirely.  Fine song from a strong album.

This is an EIGHT.  Best track on the album.  Thank you T-Bone Burnett.

7 to a 6.

Just ain't doin it.

Still sounds like a rip off of the Youngbloods Grizzly Bear.

Hearing this song within this mix was a nice counterpoint.

The new album is good...

The album with Krauss was much better.  And what an amazing live show that was...  Having seen Mr. Plant around 20 times or so, I've got to think that was easily the best.

Assume the same for the current lineup.  He's got an amazing band together and should be putting on one hell of a live show.
I couldn't believe that this song is sang by Robert Plant!! It's sucks big time!! {#Wall}
T-Bone Burnett did an amazing production here. it has his signature of sparsity

This is a great album! I had to listen to it a couple of times to get it to grow on me, but they are just doing there own thing here, they are not trying to sound like anybody or any particular style of music, I dig!{#Cowboy}

So, can I have a slice with extra chunky?

Just OK for Record of the Year, 2008.

they should have invited Jimmy to sit in on this one and I'd really like it

I'm still not seeing what all the hype was about?  Certainly not as "shocking" as Bowie and Bing
Nice backing instrumentals and chorus, shame about the main singers. Duffsville, though nowt like as bad as that awful 'please read this letter' number from this album which drives me spare ;(
Great segue from Donovan's Barabaja whatever!

I think my point was, I disagreed with the choice.  The Grammys like what they know - and have seen before - team two of them up and it's twice what they have seen before - instant winner!

I bought the CD - I listened and I think is was pretty good.  I think there were quite a few that were better - as a RP listener, I cannot believe you haven't heard a better CD for 2008.

I heard it won like 5 Grammys - I bought it a while back, and I like it OK, . . . .but it's no "Carried to Dust" in my opinion.
Great song, great album. I think the song is very reminiscent of other Robert Plant rockabilly songs.

Yes.  The CD was a bit disappointing, but my hopes were pretty high, too.  Still, nice on the ears.
