Jeez-oh-man! Why does gypsy music get me revved up so quickly? edit: Read romeotuma's translation below, and now I understand.
Interesting, and nice and tight.

Give him a break, it's only been 19 years. Some people need longer time to adjust than others.

I love Janinka but this sounds way too close to this, also from Slovakia:

Love it. Ooogie-booogie music.

The mix of deep bass and killer fiddle mix is a rare treat in the west.
May we please get some Gogol to follow up with?? pretty pretty please?

I guess I'm going through a fiddle-phase. This song makes me want to lift up my skirts and bust a move or two. (And even in my own eyes, that image is pretty horrifying...) Like this song, though - don't understand a single word, but the music, the vocal, and the rhythm convey all I need to know that I like it.
Elemental. Uplifting. DELIGHTFUL!
Don't shred that ponie! Don't shred that ponie!
Oh man! This is great stuff!!!!!
Jake mile prekvapeni z Californie pro posluchace v Olomouci!!!! Perfektni!!!! Jan
She's a Slovak hottie. Nice tune, too ;^)

Wow.....Slovaks at RP :-)...thought first I switch to some other radio station ..........it´s a love song.....actually rather erotic with a lot of passion. Jana Kirschner is a very good musician, thank you Bill for playing this.

This has got my body swaying and rocking! Yeah... I like it!
I love all sorts of fusion music. According to Wikipedia, Jana is from Slovakia (in fact, it says she was Miss Slovakia 1996!), and this song seems to have Indian stylings, combined with Western blues/jazz fiddle. Very cool.
When this started I thought we were in for another prog rock noodle. But it quickly got interesting. 7-ish
Great song!
Even the cat walked out on this one!
Before I checked the playlist, I thought it was Afrocelts. This is not a bad thing, IMHO.
Cool
Great song!
Wonderful!
Slovakia — who knew?? This is great!!!!!!!!!!
I plugged in just in time to hear this. My cube mate and I were both trying to place the style - and we were both wrong. Sure glad that I go to hear it though.

I mixed that up: 256 rather than 320 kbps are required, while 192 are exceptionally allowed. Well, I'll try to get hold of those songs at 256 or 192.

Most recently I've uploaded the classic (1982) pop ballad Äerešne by Hana Hegerová (written by Jaro Filip and Milan Lasica). Its current approval rating on RP's Listener Review Channel is 80% (4/1), so if you and others support it, maybe it will make it onto RP's main playlist one day.

A former Miss Slovakia contestant wouldn't be. Still only a 7 rating so far from me for this song, though; there are better Jana Kirschner tunes (from her breakthrough 1999 album).

Unless something has changed, I believe RP will accept as low as 192 kbps.

I've been meaning to upload the choicest masterpieces to RP's Listeners Channel for a while, but... where to get them at the minimal required rate of 320 kbps?

What the?
nice,...
Great to hear music from one's own country played here, although I only give this one a 7 for now. This isn't a typical Slovak pop (or rock) song by any means, although perhaps that's the reason Bill agreed to include it in RP's playlist. For the best Jana Kirschner songs, I'd go to her earlier, 1990s tunes (huge hits back then!) such as Modrá or V cudzom meste, although those are traditional pop-rock songs and as such might perhaps not seem attractive enough to Bill and a "foreign" audience.
There's lots of great Slovak and Czech rock music from the 1980s (or even 70s) down to today, and I've been meaning to upload the choicest masterpieces to RP's Listeners Channel for a while, but... where to get them at the minimal required rate of 320 kbps? That's a problem for me, but as soon as I get hold of some of those classic Slovak & Czech rock CDs, I'll be uploading a few suggestions.
For example, I think the song Carmen by Stromboli (the Czech Pink Floyd of the 1980s) would fit perfectly into RP playlists, or a DeÅŸo Ursiny or Bez ladu a skladu song from among Slovak artists! See my favourite songs list, continually expanded with lots of (not only) Slovak and Czech classic (or new) rock songs.
PS: This song's title should be Na ciernom koni (or Na Äiernom koni if you're a perfectionist), not Na Ciernom Koni. It means On a Black Horse, but only the first letter of song titles is capitalized in the Slovak (or Czech) language.
Erm... sorry about the long post! It's been "bothering" me for a few years now that Radio Paradise is so predominantly English-speaking. If experienced listeners from every country of the world uploaded the best that their country's rock music has to offer, we might end up with something truly unique here on Radio Paradise. Of course RP is unique even now as it is, but it's predominantly focused on music from English-speaking countries. Yeah, the largest amount of the world's best rock music is probably produced in English-speaking countries, but not in this proportion (95 to 5 % or 99 to 1 %). On the other hand, all of us carry our own regional biases, so the Listeners Channel is a good way to sort out the good stuff from among "regional" suggestions submitted from various corners of the world.
End of article!

genuine, WTF are you talking about? (confused)
Just goes to prove that you don't have to speak the language to enjoy the music.
How can I get her CD? It's not available via the Amazon.com link!

I would not guess to hear Slovak here. For a while I was confused what radio I tuned
Don't really like it , but these are my people singing, so couldn't go lower than a seven. Don't play this again for a while.

Jana didn't win the Miss Slovakia contest, she came 5th. But she is still beautiful. Now she lives in London
