Lyrics:
Make you slide your hand
Right down his back
Make you drag your nails
Real slow then attack
Make you feel like you were under a spell or two
And wonder what had come over you
Howlin' moon
Howlin' moon
That howlin' moon
Turning the tide
From a walk on the beach
To the wild side
Make you cry
Until you feel the
Make you spread your wings
See high you could get
Your inhibition is acting a fool
And the call of the jungle
Is calling you
Howlin' moon
Howlin' moon
That howlin' moon
Turning the tide
From a walk on the beach
To the wild side
Heavenly bodies
Illuminate
Feel the pull
Gravitate
Make you loosen the tie
At the drop of a hat
Make you weak in the knees
Like you've found a bat
Howlin' moon
Howlin' moon
That howlin' moon
Turning the tide
From a walk on the beach
To the wild side
Make you slide your hand
Right down his back
Make you drag your nails
Real slow then attack
Make you feel like you were under a spell or two
And wonder what had come over you
Howlin' moon

GREAT!! RP introduced me to Sonny, and now he is one of my favorite guitarists!! That is why we come here. Thanx RP!

Had to bring this up, because my neighbors heard it and came over to tell me they LOVE Sonny Landreth. They also gave me a schedule of their work-hours, so I'd know when to blast good music while they were actually awake for it (well, this is a mining town, so no one works "normal" hours.)
I love Sonny Landreth. Hadn't heard this song before, so HUGE thanks to whoever uploaded it. Scuse me while I turn it up and drive my neighbors bugf@ck....

Wow, surprised at so many unflattering comments.
Love Sonny Landreth and after seeing him open for the Neville Brothers a few years ago, Iv'e got to say that he seems like a very cool, likeable guy.
And anybody who reminds me of Little Feat is fine by me.

A sincere request Bill, please play "The Goin' On" or "Let It Fly" from this album... Way better IMO and much more representative of Sonny's real talent...
Always love a guy who isn't afraid to use a bottleneck slide!!
I love hearing those first few guitar notes, you KNOW it's Sonny Landreth and it's gonna be good.

Bill, If I detect a specific Southern slant to this morning's selection, I thank you, sir! This song gets my feet moving! Such wonderful sloppy slide guitar ...

I love it, anyway. I don't base my opinions on one particular song. Sonny Landreth has an incredible library of music, and this was just one more cut I hadn't heard before. My admiration of his talent just jumped up a notch. (Holy cow - according to my "awesome-meter," Sonny Landreth is about one step away from Godlike.)
I need drugs.
So much great Sonny Landreth music out there, shame (but understandable) that some of you are forming opinions based on this cut. It's not representative of his best work. In concert, he'll say "God gave me a big guitar talent and a real little voice, so listen as best you can". This really doesn't show off either.

It would be fun to hear him with Rodney Crowell. They have kind of a similar sound.

That's what _I_ thought. I'll take that day! And by the by, AMG confirms that it's Dr. John playing piano and sangin'.

I want SO MUCH to be amazed by this song/performer, but I keep having flashbacks to many outdoor, beer-soaked, frisbee-tossing, girls-halter-wearing, mud-in-the-toes, blues concerts sponsored by the local radio station.

LOL
Sonny's got talent. This is just some song that could be used as background music in a movie. Hey those guitars cost money. Even Robert Redford did crappy movies to finance a great one.
Where that came from I have no idea...

Naw, I scrolled back and found it: somebody was mishearing 'howlin' moon' as 'Powers Booth'. I have no idea why they felt compelled to post it, but somebody decided to run with it and post a pic of Mr. Booth. Who, if I recall right, played Jim Jones in the movie of the Jonestown massacre, to chilling effect.

Sort of shocked by some of the really negative thoughts below. Seemed quite listenable.

Full of cliches - musically and lyrically
Was just playing quietly in the background but it irritated its way into my conscious and annoyed sufficiently to post a hegative comment (my first!)
Please don't play again.

Mr. Landreth has very similar 'jump blues' roots, but takes it somewhat farther afield than Ms. Ball.

You got that right, cc. Marcia Ball is an incredible talent, and so is Sonny.
If there's any place in the world wit a better music scene than the Bay Area, it's gonna be Austin. Peace!

This music and female singer reminds me of Marcia Ball; great singer, solid rock and roller, wonder whatever happened to her?

Hiya,
Someone rated this a 1 already? Have you already heard the whole song? This is my first hearing and I'm starting with a 7, though that may change over time...
