This woman sings so mellow with a hoarseness that's so good and sooothing.... Surprised and pleased by your unending repertoire of exquisite music...Thank you for being Radio Paradise  :)

Where has she gone, nothing for years..? She's good! Miss her! {#Heartkiss}
That's how to tell a story. I wondered if the Indigo Girls were trying a new sound. Like this very much, so believable.
Bleck. un-likable, sorry!
Amazing voice and I love the guitar, more please!
Lame.

Bumping this up to a 9.  I just really love how her voice can project the most snarky of sentiments in a tone that makes it sound like she's compiling a shopping list.... (Sorry, but that's the best I can do right now. I mean it in the best way.)

Spooky when the artist writes in, like we better be on our best behavior and write nice stuff, though at least it's not Nick Drake checking in ...that would be scary

Nice.  Needed a laugh today.  Thanks.  If anyone could check in here from The Great Beyond, it would be cool to hear from Mr. Drake.

On another tack: one of the highlights of RP is when arteests do check in.  Sigmon is/was another.  Would love to hear more from him.

Fontaine, keep up the good work.  Good stuff.

 thank you apd. i got of lot of shit for not using a photograph of myself. i fell in love with this photo of ceiling lights, and it made me think of the spark you feel when there is chemistry between two people... so it worked. thanks again.

Love this album cover and really respect the decision not to do the obvious: use a glamourous photo of the artist. Which must have been a big decision: second album (time to build on some recognition); she's very beautiful (can't hurt); instead, go for a lovely, if obscure (and possibly alienating) abstract cover. I even like the choice of colour on the type - it's a little hard to read, which adds to obscure factor. (I know I couldn't have resisted making it a bit darker.) All and all, I can't stop staring at it.

Curious to know about the pressure you where under for a different cover - if you're an indie artist on a small label, wouldn't you have a lot more say in this matter? And who's giving you shit? The label?
And what where the alternatives? Do you have any of them posted on your MySpace? (Hope I'm not being too inquisitive, but I'm a designer and art director, so...)

This is really enjoyable music!  Never had heard of Fontaine before, but I'll be buying this CD.  Something about that resonant guitar, slower beat, and sultry voice just mix perfectly - oh, and the lyrics are wonderfully, understatedly snarky:  "It's a long way home, but at least you're gone..."  Yowch. In a good way. {#Sunny}

Thank you RP!  Another artist that was unknown to me - until RP opened my ears.
Another RP treasure... I vote for more from Fontaine and similar artists.

ruth-ann and lynn, they wear them
cut-off britches and those
skinny little halters and they're
second cousins to me

man, i don't care i wanna
get between 'em with a
great big old hard-on like a
bois d'arc fencepost
There's something about the bass line in the chorus that just grabs me — really diggin' it.

I hear strong echoes of Joan Armatrading here.  Dig it.
There's something haunting in this song that I can't quite identify. I suppose it's the familiarity of the regrets at the end of a relationship. And also the notion of "getting your fix" in this context.

Glad to hear it. Even gladder I didn't write anything rude with the original artist reading the forum ;-)

 that has crossed my mind several times

LOL!  I see you were being facetious.

Every song on this album is a 10 for me.

Hmm. She is one bitter woman. Not much chance of her staying 'good friends' with whoever she's just ditched. Funny how love can turn to hate so quickly. Ok, maybe not so funny after all ;-|
