Always pulls my head into a peaceful space, esp. when I'm stressed out at work. 10-10-10-10!
Sublime.....

Three years on and if we don't need saving, then a kind hand on the shoulder works a wonder.

What he said!
Wasn't this piece made in collaboration with Blaine Reininger from Tuxedomoon? It has this characteristic atmosphere that is very 'reiningerian'.
This is the antidote for the student-level banality that comes up sometimes.  Thank you.

+1 for cool band name.
This is one of those songs I imagine they play at my funeral in a movie of my life.

Yeah... we just came out of Squeeze's "Another Nail For My Heart" which had us hopping, and this kinda threw the gears in reverse.
....beautiful!....

Where is the cut? I cannot see the discontinuity where the gif repeats. Is she that perfect that she ends millimeters from where she started?

Hmm, maybe its thoughts and prayers

or not praying at all, just thinking...

but I like it.
Playing informed by intelligence and feeling.  Thank you.

This is such a moving and fantastic song. I get a TMC 'Filigree and Shadow' vibe from this.
slides right in after Black Sabbath's Planet Caravan....well done, BillG

This is so good, big feel, a one OFF.
A very eclectic band, spanning from IDM to neo-classic, from deep house to electropop. Love them.
Simply gorgeous... love me some strings
Please keep playing these gorgeous, moving masterpieces, RP.
Not to be mixed with Clod Cult, which I did for a few times, based on similar name.

You blew it man. Now that you've posted "they" know who you are and where you are.
The violin tone reminds me of the difference between Dave Swarbrick and Rick Sanders. I like the former, and not the latter. However, I do like Curved Air. There is something in this piece/arrangement that doesn't seem to meld contentedly.
that's alot of compression on the piano

This piece sounds a lot like Brian Eno's classic "Ambient 1/Music for Airports".

This is, like it or not, the greatest prog album ever. Yes is the greatest prog band (close tie with Crimson and ELP and PFM). And for those of us who were in our teens when it was released, this is about as close to a religious and transcendent experience as folks could put on vinyl.
Was wondering how a segue from Close to the Edge would work... now I know. Once again, well played segue master, well played.

Hmmmm.  Good observation.  Identified similarly in Wikipedia's entry for Cult with No Name:

"The band's second album, Careful What You Wish For, was released a year later and included the instrumental track "You Know Me Better Than I Know Myself", which featured Tuxedomoon's Blaine L. Reininger on violin, ... "

Sounds like a personal (computer) problem!  I rated this one a 9 somewhere along the line, now I'm not sure if 8 is more appropriate, although the 'lyrics' listed are cool, I didn't hear anything sung on this song, so I'm a bit confused....at least it was a great intro to Tull's Locomotive Breath...Long Live RP!!
To me, this song is a beautiful and long intro to an another song...
And Bill always find a good transition to this one :)

NOOOOO not the screechy violin song again!  Back to Dynamic Range Radio for awhile.

Is good

I have not rated this, I always go by the majority rules,  and all the haters here and negative folks, you lose,  it is liked by the majority, use the PSD and move on!
This song is for me a big nice intro for the next one, which is often different
Waiting for the surprise coming...
Sounds like an unfinished demo. The violin noodling is particularly annoying.

Come on, enough already!  This is way too slow for RP. Not eclectic but elevator music. I vote to remove this song, forever from the playlist.
A most welcome blast from the past. Thank you RP!
One day, I love the song & music.

Another day, the cynic steps forward and says "If Only."

Another day, the Wounded One says "Why-?" and watches the rain keep falling.

Well, now that it's going on 4 months and it's still cold this just seems like an insult.

Actually I love this song.  It's just been cold long enough and we still have at best another month to go.  At least here in Wyoming.
When I first heard this song i bought it and looped it over and over for about a week.  I still love hearing it on Radio Paradise.  It's such an honest piece of music.

Nice!
This may be good for a 3 AM spot on Wednesday, but on a Friday... come on.
I stopped working although I was so deep into writing a concept when I heard that piece of music.

Been running around all day, working on a ton of things that need to get done.

Nice to hear this and STOP FOR A MOMENT and ...  just breathe.

Guess I'm in the minority here, but to me it sounds like substandard classical. I like the overall vibe but some off-pitch notes on the strings are really grating.

all good except, {#Flamed} the music out of texass is without doubt some of the greatest ever made.....
But it's not a violin, is it?  The low range made me think Viola and Cello, yet the peaks were way up there...  I'm thinking an ensemble of all three...  Of course, I haven't researched it and just spouting off in response to other posts...  Sorry, got company, gotta go, but I LOVE this piece!

Wonderful.
This always reminds me of Ry Cooder's soundtrack to the Walter Hill film JOHNNY HANDSOME. The opening piano notes always make me think we're about to hear the theme from JOHNNY...
