It sounds GREAT, but it sounds more like a marimba. Wooden tines. Todd Rundgren owns & plays one!
This is some serious -and enjoyable- xylophone

Afro-Cubism is perfect description. Before I got to the web, I was thinking cubano, but also with the sounds of a kora. If you like this, you should check out Toumani Diabaté, kora player from Mali. I saw him and Bela Fleck in an amazing concert in Tucson a decade ago.

I hear "Twist and Shout" but can hear Hang on Sloopy too
I was thinking La Bamba, but in the end they're all similar underneath.

Nice introduction to Cuban music. Watch more Dexter when it comes back on for a nicer flavor of MIami Ciban Music

I gave it a 5 — it's a 6 for the first 2 minutes or so but then it starts getting on my nerves.

Noodle, noodle, wibble, snore...
Some musical fusions, such as Salsa Celtica, add another dimension or two to the component styles. This group take at least one dimension away from Cuban music, namely excitement. A nailed-on Ho-Hum from the Nottingham jury.

The first love, is self love. We are all self centered. If you can imagine sitting in a cabana somewhere sunny, enjoying a frosty beverage, watching the birds. Really just appreciating the heat of the day and the cool of the shade.
Makes me want to spend some time in Havana.
Sounds lovely.

I'm not sure what sort of cartoons you watch, but in most that I've seen, the "falling-down-stairs" scenes have always been accompanied by the sound of a single slide whistle.
Sounds like what you'd hear in a cartoon when someone falls down the stairs

Uh-huh. So only a hater, who has hate built into his/her genes and is therefore always going to hate, yea even the masterpieces of musical culture, could hate this song. Anyone rational and positive has to love it, right? Kinda self-centred, arncha?
Well, 'haters' like me need a special rating for songs that combine extreme tedium with extreme irritation. Or maybe scratch the ratings, just hit mute. Ah, yes, that's so much better.

Are there any deep, cheerful songs?
I like it. It's not deep, but cheerful.
Are there any deep, cheerful songs?
That was *enjoyable* =)
This reminds me a bit of the Baja Marimba Band - in a good way. Smooth and very danceable. And the xylophone just adds a touch of calypso that makes me smile. I like this song.
Hardly ever get to cha-cha these days

is that Baba Maal playing?
I gave it a 5 — it's a 6 for the first 2 minutes or so but then it starts getting on my nerves.
i feel like i'm in a elevator in the caribbean
Bad. Please end before I turn the station.
The images on the HD channel during this song are simply outstanding. If you like shots of old cars and classic Cuba, tune in.
This song is awesome. I don't understand the lukewarm reception.
Perfect for the mood.
I like this

Every other song from this CD has stopped me in my tracks. This one, not so much.

It's definitely in there. I would consider it a 'Jazzy' version of Guantanamera. Very subtle. On the whole I'm liking it more and more.
For me, there is a continuous thread of Guantanamera in this, an old song covered by many artists, notably Pete Seeger, and The Sandpipers too. Mostly, it makes me want to dig out that old recording. Ah yes, there is the Internet! lol
A light, pleasant ditty with some interesting rhythm happening. A 6 for me.

Strange combination of Paul Simon's Graceland, late Zappa and crap. Sorry, I am not feeling it.
