I have failed you, I have failed you
I have lost my way, lost my nerve
I've failed you
But I love you, how I love you
I have turned my back, left you last
But I love you
O setting sun don't sink before I've found my heart
Heart don't give up now while there's still time
Time don't beat your old retreat
Stay a little while with me
Til I've looked the whole thing in the eye
I have waited, I have waited
For the big reveal, the even keel
I have waited
But there's no one who
Makes it all come true
Just altars gathering dust while we bow to them
O night bring all your shadows and your silence
Silence make a hostage of my mind
Mind bring on your trickery
Black dogs nip on at my heels
Til I've looked the whole thing in the eye
Swing low, sail high
I have failed you, I have failed you
I've closed my heart,
I have failed you
But I love you, how I love you
All my days will rearrange to say I love you
O setting sun don't weep for all the things you lose
Morning comes as sure as it must die
Dying is such mystery
Yet I wonder will it be
When I've looked the whole thing in the eye
Swing low, sail high
Swing low, sail high
I have lost my way, lost my nerve
I've failed you
But I love you, how I love you
I have turned my back, left you last
But I love you
O setting sun don't sink before I've found my heart

Swing low, sail high
Swing low, sail high

Seen these gals in several venues and they never fail to delight.

To each his/her own, of course. There's a time and place for some songs and/or artists, and The Jennys just fit in my life as it is now. Maybe you need Metallica or Morphine for your particular life as it is now, and that's okay, too. Who knows? Someday, the window might fly open and suddenly, the Jennys might fit your life as it is. We are flux, not anchor.
Thank you for not using that barf-emoticon, and for stating your views in an intelligent, considerate manner.
You posts were so kind, even-keeled and open-hearted. We all you miss you, Cynaera.

I like the Jennys, but this is just the sound of their voices and not much else.

Go see 'em live. It may not change your life, but it will improve it a whole lot.
I knew it was the Jennys with the first vocal. And then came the harmony. And then the NEXT harmony. I will always and forever love this band. Sometimes it's hard to get to the lyrics because the vocals just enchant and bewitch me and keep me in that stasis. When I can finally pull myself away from those awesome harmonies and focus on the words, I go back into that enchanted realm again.
Jennys - you drive me crazy. I fall into one of your songs and it's all I can do to pull myself out again. I have work to do - bills to pay, calls to make, a garden to till. I'll get to it tomorrow. For now, I'm saturated in your music, and nothing else matters...

"Oh, setting sun don’t weep for all the things you lose
Morning comes as sure as it must die
Dying is such mystery
Yet I wonder will it be?
When I’ve looked the whole thing in the eye"
Howse the rest of the album comparatively?

Ehhhhhh, don't get me wrong, these lovely ladies are good singers and all but if you've heard one of their songs you've kinda heard them all. A bit too saccharine for me, i think. And, yeah, the drums do seem a bit too intrusive on this track. fwiw.

The drumming is slightly intrusive at the end. Pleasant, but far from their best.
Sweet harmonies, as always.
I'm first! I'm first! Otherwise I have nothing to say about this song.
