And with a brush and ink
I'll paint a lake
Sometimes all it takes
Is a walk around the lake
To loose your mind
All it takes is a walk around the lake
Is a walk around the lake

And late at night I stay up and write
A book about my life
So noone would ever make
All of my mistakes
To ease your mind
All it takes is a walk around the Lake
Is a walk around the lake

And well I've made my loved ones cry
Right in front of my eyes
And I've spent so long a-hurting
In such a short life
But I'm moving on
My heart is grown,
I'm moving on
Yes I'm moving on
My heart is grown
I'm moving on

And oh, sometimes that's all it takes
Is a walk around the lake
And sometimes that's all it takes
Is a walk around the lake
Is a walk around the lake
Is a walk around the lake

One of those songs that has lost its appeal the more I have heard it...loved it at first, but now its becoming less and less to me.  Funny how those happen...
Walk Around The Lake.  Lost In The Trees.  All Alone In An Empty House.  Enter Freddy Krueger.

Carmina Burana
This is a fantastic tune - because sometimes - all it takes:

is a walk around the lake.
Sincerely, beautifull!!!
Do I hear a theremin -- or a saw?! -- behind the closing vocals?

To my Dutch ears they sound a LOT like one of the better known singles of the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, AFAIK with international success.

Ah, try "Ice Queen":

Hmm... they're different chords, but still a quite similar sound (although the actual songs are VERY different).

Reminded me of Leonard Cohen

Yes, I'm getting this too - can't figure out where else I've heard it.
When this burst out of the speakers I wondered if it was Ray Manzarek's 'Carmina Burana' for a moment. And then the vocalist joined in and it plumeted from a 9 to a 7. But continued orchestration and chorals brought it back to an 8. Pity the singer doesn't have the pipes to do the rest justice.

Very interesting, and also quite arresting in its barrage of changing tempo, angle and tone of vocals, and spooky orchestral ornaments.

from what I have heard I think Lost In The Trees is my favorite of this genre
I kept hoping it had finished!
Boredom at its finest
There is something nostalgic about this song ... {#Neutral}
I can survive without it.

No, but I like 'em

I can listen to anything these guys do.  Love their sound especially before they dropped the strings in the newer stuff.
"Loose" your mind? Maybe it was a bit tight.
"This song makes my ears bleed green ink" well, maybe a bit harsh, but it is like a foal, adorable but somewhat disjointed.

Their latest album "Past Life" is nice, more electrical stuff and less quirky.
A bit disjointed. I don't dislike. It's a good tune.
...i hear a bit of florence and the jaxx...

Someone asked where they are from.  No, this isn't from a horror flick.  ;-)

Chapel Hill, NC.
Check out their youtubes.  Interesting.
The folk orchestra is a nice touch.  It's who they are.

Sounds close to some Moody Blues songs, but I'm not sure...

love it.  and they are SO wonderful live.

Such a good set, I delayed starting the next episode of "Arrested Development."

Joe Bonamassa — Stones In My Passway
The Black Keys — Dead and Gone
Other Lives — For 12
Lost In The Trees — Walk Around The Lake
I like their upscale sound.  Way to be Tar Heels.

That must be the worst feeling in the world...to be an artist and to not even have RT on your side.

There are two Kingsbury Manx tunes on the playlist, as well as one from Trailer Bride, but they've yet to be played.  As far as I can remember, the only other Chapel Hill area bands I've heard here are Squirrel Nut Zippers and Southern Culture on the Skids, (and The Rosebuds, but they're from Raleigh).  There are a lot of bands out there - Bill can't get to all of them.  I'll have to upload some Dexter Romweber.
2nd song I've heard from this band on RP. Both good.

Love it. 10.

I like this.

It sounds a lot like the Bowerbirds, who are from Raleigh (same area as this band who is from Chapel Hill).. Unfortunately the Bowerbirds haven't gotten any love here... I uploaded some stuff to the LRC with no luck.

I'd like to hear more of this band.. I think I hear a saw in this song... remniscent of another Chapel Hill band, Trailer Bride... must be a NC thing

Acoustic folk orchestra?  My kind of eclectic!  The haunting backup up singers lend a "Wiccan" sound.  The youtube video is simple and lovely.  Filmed in a light snow with candles and walks thru the woods at night.  Sets a great mood.

Nice and smooth.  We'll start with a 7+ and see how good it sounds next time.
Keep playing those NC local bands!!
So far so good!
Nice stove.
