We were always on our way
Rolling up our sleeves
Ever moving forward
In the tracks where we lived our simple lives
Kept our blinders on
Eyes to the horizon
I know I'm no doctor but I know
You can't live in the past
But the only way to go is to go back
And return to who we were
Before we disappeared
Into the thick of big ideas
Now we can see the sweeping view
But we're waiting out the storm
Stuck under the awning
I know I'm no doctor but I know
You can't live in the past
But the only way to go is to go back
Into everglades, greener yesterdays, skip the stones away
Go back to the start, photos in the darkroom before they fade
So we hold to who we are
Even into the arc
Beyond our furthest edges
To a world full of strange and towering skies
And a chance to choose in time
To set out on our own way
I know I'm no doctor but I know
You can't live in the past
But the only way to go is to go back
Rolling up our sleeves
Ever moving forward
In the tracks where we lived our simple lives
Kept our blinders on
Eyes to the horizon
I know I'm no doctor but I know
You can't live in the past
But the only way to go is to go back
And return to who we were
Before we disappeared
Into the thick of big ideas
Now we can see the sweeping view

Another group that I knew nothing about, thank you.

Oh I'll bet there's more than one beard, vest, and/or 'urban casual' hat in that group.

Sounds like a cross between The Thorns (the Matthew Sweet / Shawn Mullins / Pete Droge trio) and Mumford & Sons. I like it quite a bit.
Yuck! Insipid Caucasian dreck

Exactly why I listen and support RP. I love the unexpected sound of a song I would never have discovered, if left to my own devices.
My thoughts exactly!

I really dig this tune, but this is the third Darlingside song I have heard today at work. Granted, it was three different songs, and I work 12 hr. shifts, but that still seems too frequent.
When I retire I swear I'm gonna learn the banjo.
From my home town! They're awesome!! They tour the states a lot. See them live!
Outstanding harmony!
Correct....!
