Lonely fortunes fall down at our bare feet
But there are cracks in the concrete
Our tired eyes can see so much more clearly
So clearly
That we’re never gonna have much
Myself, I’d take such as a compliment
We can blame it on our circumstances
At least we took the chances we had to
I’m so sorry I forgot myself
I should have asked for help
You say that’s ok and that you know we’ve got it made
So I know we’ve got it made
But we’re never gonna have much
Myself, I’d take such as a compliment
We can blame it on our circumstances
At least we took the chances we had to

So far, listeners hear Elephant Revival, The Head & The Heart, and The Kings of Leon. I just wish they were as good as those bands.
Nice, thanks RP.

Something new to me. Nice!

I can definitely imagine Eddie Vedder mumbling his way through a version of this (not that I think that they necessarily sound like him). I don't think it would be an improvement. The song is plenty good on its own.
Hatin' for nothin' on RP of all places?
That's silly

I like the "cracks in the concrete" link with the previous from DCFC. Or is that a coincidence ...
edit: ooh, a different DCFC track today. No concrete, though.

I got Bill's explanation for the band name.
SE Wisconsin has a Bong Recreation Area - now there's a good band name.

Damn, I thought Bill was talking about Hunga Tonga
I hear Kings of Leon, not a bad thing to me....

At first I thought it may have been Elephant Revival or The Head & The Heart. They seem to favor that straight, four-on-the-floor bass drum beat; like to keep things simple I guess. Nice mandolin in the mix.
Ooh! A new song from the Lumineers!

Love hearing Ha Ha Tonka on RP! Good on ya!
BTW, "Ha Ha Tonka" is the name of a state park near where the band comes from in Missouri. Legend is that it is an Osage Indian phrase for "laughing water".

Truly one of the great live bands out there. And give this whole albums a listen! My fav album is probably Lessons, a little darker and rockier than the other ones. And Death of Decade where this song is from has lots of other good music. So glad to finally see them on RP!
