¿Cuántas peleas recuerdan
Las líneas de mis manos?
¿Cuántas historias caben
Metidas en 21 gramos?
Tú que estás lejos
Y a la vez más cerca
Tú que estás lejos
Y a la vez más cerca
Que mi propia vena yugular
من أجلك أدمر السماء
من أجلك أهدم الجحي
فال وعود
وال وعيد
Mira yo no tengo tiempo
Para odiar a lucifer
Estoy demasiado ocupada
Amándote a ti Undibel
7 heavens
Big deal
I wanna see the 8th heaven
10th heaven
Thousandth heaven
You know, it's like
Break on through the other side
It's just like going through one door
One door isn't enough
A million doors aren't enough

OMG, bad bunny and rosalía all day long... There's no escape from them here in Spain, RP used to be, but now it's falling in the mainstream, so sad...
I heard somewhere the album is based on a famous book of romantic poetry in Spain. Whatever, I have no idea what she's singing about, but it makes my ears happy.
The English spoken part at the end talking about the Thousandth heaven makes me think of Flatland, A Romance of Many Dimensions, a book written by Edwin Abbott in 1884 about a 2 dimensional being that lives in a 2 dimensional world.  He interacts with a 1 dimensional world that can't understand a second dimension.  Later he is taken out of his 2D world into a 3D world.  His mind is blown.  But immediately he wants to know what the 4D world looks like and imagines that there must be infinite dimensions.  His 3D friend hypocritically thinks this is ridiculous.

Anyhow, its a fantastic book, and seems pretty ahead of its time from 140 years ago.
Another amazing song from an excellent album, which linurbug already described very well in a previous post. Musically and lyrically complex.

The Arabic lyrics in this song are referencing the poetry of the Sufi mystic Rabia Basri.  As linburg already mentioned, Rosalía sings in over a dozen different languages on LUX.

Her lyrics near the end where she juxtaposes the vast with the minute, each fitting within and filling each other, are to me a very compelling example of Rosalía's skill with poetic imagery and her outstanding ability to convey emotion with her voice. Beautiful.

The end of the song is spoken by Patti Smith. Rosalía is acknowledging the previous generation of groundbreaking women who influenced her, as she did by asking Björk to join her on the song Berghain.
Major garbage.
I appreciate the voice, the different pace of the song and its weirdness.
I do, however, think this album has been written to please Pitchfork critics, which only praise very weird music.
Very interesting song, even if I don't understand the non-english lyrics.

"Break on through the other side
It's like going through one door
One door isn't enough
A million doors aren't enough"

Bill - Nice segue to The Doors, Waiting for the Sun... :)

She's just extremely popular in Spain, and it is always trendy to hate on popular stuff.

Yes, a fantastic album! Most appreciated once you understand her themes of "feminine mystique, transformation and spirituality" inspired by female saints. Rosalia was interested in exploring other cultures and researched , wrote  lyrics and sang in 14 different languages, huge effort. She's pushing boundaries on this album, who does pop/ classical? Created over 2-3 years, recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, it.s an aural treat. Listen on headphones or with great speakers.

William, that was kind of subtle-  following the final lyrics of this song "Break on through the other side,………, one door isn't enough, a million doors aren't enough" and  segueing into Doors "Break on Through (To the Other Side.") Loved it, thank you.

one of the most beautiful albums of the year for me.  I have seen it described as a "spiritual odyssey" and I agree, incredibly powerful and beautiful ❤️
This is an amazing album.
nah. She sucks.
