figured this was as good a spot for this as any...

This "supply chain" issue is an interesting one.

Of the essentials in my life, haven't noticed any issues procuring what I need.

I did attempt to buy a new bed, and the one I wanted was backlogged a couple months, but I acquired another alternative within 2 weeks.

So Santa may come up short a few items this Christmas, and retailers miss their sales guidance by a few bps...

Odd how "critical" this issue has become, with billions somehow found to throw at it, despite the lack of any real threat to any of us.

Not to mention, the bigger issues behind it are the heavy (temporary) shift in consumer spending to goods, and the lack of labor to move/truck the goods once its gets here. Maybe all we needed was a better wage for these workers, but you know, unions are evil.

And then there is the fact that this isn’t a political issue, but of course is becoming one.

Chris Cuomo Goes Full Howard Beale: “I Don’t Think Anchoring Is Worth My Time”

In the movie “Network,” character Howard Beale famously declared on national television that “I am mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.” CNN Anchor Chris Cuomo, 49, reportedly went full Howard Beale on Monday on his SiriusXM show in denouncing his work at CNN, denouncing both Democrats and Republicans, and declaring that President Donald Trump is “full of sh*t.” The CNN host recently recovered from COVID-19 and appears to have emerged with something of an epiphany.

Cuomo is quoted as saying “I don’t want to spend my time doing things that I don’t think are valuable enough to me personally,. I don’t value indulging irrationality, hyper-partisanship.”

He was clear that his future plans do not seem to include his CNN gig: “I don’t like what I do professionally I don’t think it’s worth my time.” He said that he was through “talking to Democrats about things that I don’t really believe they mean” and “talking to Republicans about them parroting things they feel they have to say.” He also said he had enough with Trump “who we all know is full of s–t by design.”

The part that many of us might relate to was Cuomo’s frustration with the life of a celebrity in not being able to tell off rude people, though he never seems to have been particularly chaste in such encounters.

He recounted how he was confronted for going outside with his family on Easter Sunday: “I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bulls–t to me, I don’t want to hear it.” He wants to be able to tell such people to “go to hell” again and “That matters to me more than making millions of dollars a year … because I’ve saved my money and I don’t need it anymore.”

A BLOKE from Texas is getting a lot of tweets today from people who think he wants to become Australian prime minister.

Austin’s Mr Dutton, who works for a gourmet popcorn company, is taking it in its stride. When someone suggested “Mate. It’s anyone’s game at the moment over here. Come try out for Prime Minister?” he said he was “packing his bags”.

“We could use a 30yo black man as prime minister instead of the ratbags we’re stuck with now,” said one.

“You would totally be welcome to come down and take over. You can stay at my place until they have the official residence ready for you,”

The tweet comments are pretty funny

Some background on the kooky cocaine claim.

The Ping May is a huge vessel with 91,385 tons of cargo capacity, which is about the same as 20 million cats, assuming each cat weighs the average 10 pounds.

For comparison, the 40 packages of cocaine, about 90 pounds total, would weigh the same as nine cats.

I came to check out the latest post (about the WY candidate Rod Mitchell and his EPIC beard) but then I saw this bit about "Cocaine Mitch." My God, it feels like that ad was two years ago. Trump's whirlwind of bulls*^ craziness warps the time-space continuum.

Thank God that Blankenship got flushed.
