Jarro, Nate, and everyone else on the RP crew:
THANK YOU SO MUCH for continuing to program RP on Echo Shows!!! Now the Echo Shows are SHOWing the titles of the songs and the names of the musicians! Hurray!
Next up: the ability to PSD?!? Please?
Did you have to do anything to get this? Our Echo Show still just says "Main Mix". I updated its software...

This is an interesting topic, as well as being a disappointing one. I recently bought an Echo Show, whilst additionally using various Google Home/Nest devices for the last several years. I too was disappointed that the RP skill does not give any song info or album art when playing on the Show, although I fully accept this is a complication caused at the Alexa end, not RP's. What I find curious is that when I check the Alexa app on my Android phone while RP is playing on the Show, the app does show the track title.
I guess I'll have to resort to using TuneIn again, just as with the Google devices, if I don't want to stream via Bluetooth. That's a shame though, as TuneIn can be annoying with its ads and idents. It's a compromise though, and I get it.
TuneIn should not be playing any ads on our stream. Please let us know if you hear any.

Fantastic, Jarroâï¸ Thank youâ£ï¸ The "ask radio paradise to change the channel..." worked.
And - ha! - what didn't work was "play my favorites mix using radio paradise." The response I received was "Your rating is 7." I would love to know what Alexa's algorithms think that means.
It's all still there. Main headache with this stuff is if you look at what alexa heard in the alexa app it's often way off from what was said.
Sometimes reversing phrases will work better.
eg.
Alexa play my favorites mix using radio paradise
vs
Alexa ask radio paradise to play my favorites mix
Also play is a very busy word. Linked to a lot of first party skills.
Sometimes requesting channel instead works better.
Alexa ask radio paradise to change the channel to my favorites.
Alexa is all very clunky. But I expect it to be unrecognizable in a few years.

Does anyone know what happened to the Alexa skills or routines that allowed the playing of the other channels? Not only is the "Alexa, ask Radio Paradise what's playing" no longer working - which isn't a problem, because TuneIn shows it now (fabulous!) - but no skills or routines work any more, other than getting Alexa to play the Main Mix (Live). For many months I was able to toggle to My Favorites whenever I pleased, but the ability disappeared a couple weeks ago. I was also able to skip - play the next song - but can't do that anymore. Help!

Is that still the case? It's frustrating when you see the Spotify experience! I sooo wished we would have the same view on alexa show...
Like the previous song, like, etc...
Unfortunately yes. The limitation is due to them not supporting gapless playback. We worked around that, but the tradeoff is not being able to display the current song info.
Due to limitations with the Alexa service we can't update the info on track changes.
Best we could do for the devices with screens is display a generic image and the channel info.
This is also why "Alexa, what's playing" won't give an answer. To get the current song info you need to include the skill name.
