I think the GOP doesn't get it that, in response to the blitzkrieg that was Project 2025, there will be a similar "he never existed and his followers will be punished, too" plan that will happen the moment the proper power switch happens.
No, it's all federal charges so he'll preemptively pardon the entire GOP on his way out. Including himself; last time around there was a debate about whether he could pardon himself but this time he'll just do it and let them fight over it forever.
Hopefully the next Dem Pres hires an AG with a take no prisoners attitude. Letitia James comes to mind. Someone who will not give a shit if you were pardoned or not, you will spend a lot of time and money in a courtroom.
