Radio Paradise

I'm out walking on this sunny Thursday morning. Bill emits the perfect set for the day, I think it aired for the first time this morning. Started with "Wet Dream" by Wet Leg then Eric Clapton I'll Make Lover To You, Eric Burdon Don't Ever Let Nobody Drag You Down, The Decembrists' Carolina Low, Its A Beautiful Day's Bulgaria and Bob Marley So Much Trouble In The World. What's notable to me as I turn 71 is first, I'd not heard any of these lovely songs save one, ever. Second, Every single one of them was an immediate 8 for me individually. But today, and third, as I attended to the lyrics, each successive song made the previous one better. By the end, Wet Dream is worthy of a 10 to me. And the whole set is a 10 on the Richter scale.

So, Fourth, Bill, knowing you say there isn't ever a theme to a set, just a sequence of perfect next songs, it does become clear to me that you have something on your mind as you work. Something to do, to give for consideration, to match the feeling in the air, to point the audience to something worthwhile. Thanks for that.

What I found worthwhile was this musical survey of love: from young biology through youthful lust, respect for all individuals, the acceptance of some risk to gain a relationship with another, the natural philosophy of why, how, and when we as individuals do love, so we each can consider our part in getting along together in this world.

The other day I heard the reference to a song that comes out of Saskatchewan Canada. The city that they came from was pronounced "rageena." It's actually pronounced like vagina. Just an FYI. No harm done.
