I guess I wasn't completely wrong with my assertion, back when he was being kicked out by Fox.

"Tucker Carlson is unstoppable. Since his sudden departure from Fox News he scores record viewer ratings. In an exclusive interview with (the Swiss) Weltwoche, the political media star demolishes the mainstream media’s manipulation machine, reveals his concerns about a potential Donald Trump Restoration, he speaks about the disturbing state of the Biden family and discusses what’s next for him in a Post-Fox News Order."

Thanks for that.  Was wondering what Carlson has been up to since departing Fox.

Be interesting to see if he might team up with Greenwald, another one cast off by the organization he founded.

Hannity's a hack entertainer, not a newsman...but to try to argue Biden has put us on a solid path forward in terms of the economy and immigration...is pretty dubious. He's thrown plenty of  borrowed $ at the economy (a s-t fix which also contributed to inflation), and other than that continued most of trump's trade positions. There is IRA, but it will do nothing to impact inflation, and too much of the climate type investments are misguided, putting the horse ahead of the cart. I'm not convinced they will work, especially once the Repubs return and overturn it.

Harris is pretty much a dead weight.

I'm not ready to disagree on this, but I do remember how the most qualified person in our lifetime to be the President was disparaged as much as is humanly possible to prevent her from being elected. I wonder how much of Harris is really incompetent or if she's the victim of a media inertia like how President Ford was (not really) a stumblebum. Or that Trump was a super genius. It's all media and money and salesmanship, or even a meme that catches on, so it's hard to know if you're really getting the objective and full picture.

That said, it should be relatively easy to prove with accomplishments and videos that she's doing a great job, and that's not happening. Thrown under the bus by her own team, it seems. And that's a bad sign.

He's not the only option, but I think people have a real issue with the first woman President coming in the back door (so to speak).  Folks won't say it out loud but for undecided voters, I think it's a can of worms best left closed.   In this situation, I think Joe needs a "young Biden", and Newsom fits that bill better than anyone (probably even old Joe).

I don't see Whitmer or Klobuchar as moving the conversation away from "a vote for Joe is really a vote for Kamala, or Gretchen, or Amy to be the next President".  It doesn't have the same impact when you use Gavin in the sentence.

Maybe they are afraid of losing women/black voters if they pull the plug on Harris. Plus they already are printing up merch/campaign products.

Of course Newsom isn't the only option. Whitmer or Klobuchar could also strengthen the ticket. Harris is pretty much a dead weight.

If I were Biden, I would think seriously about replacing Harris with Newsom.  I don't think Newsom would do it, but if he would, it would crush the standard "you're voting for President Harris" noise and would provide someone on the campaign trail who can vigorously defend Biden's record and debate the facts.   There is going to be a lot of pressure on debates next fall, and Newsom would take a lot of the pressure off of Biden's performance, which will no doubt reflect a guy in his 80s struggling to respond quickly.

I decided to go watch the full interview which is a bit longer (below).

It's amazing to see Hannity's lack of depth exposed.  Take some data, create a position that blames the left for something, and then ignore the rebuttal.  He can't engage with Newsom because he can't process the facts and reconcile his position to continue debating the topic... so he moves on with another talking point.

I particularly liked his comments about the 1% and progressive tax policy and corporate migrations.  All of those companies are moving their headquarters out of the state, but they are doing so because you have other states providing tax incentives.  Those incentives always underperform for the state, and companies move the legal entity but not the majority of jobs.  Tesla moved and then pivoted back to California for the high-end tech jobs because they couldn't staff them in Texas, and Elon likes people to work in an office.  The $45k/ year jobs are in Texas.  The $145k/year jobs are in California.
