So we were in Mexico recently. One of the hardest things is the dog situation there. We work with a couple of rescue groups and our friends are all involved as well. One of the first nights we were there, we wound up with the little black dog here as an off the street stray. We took care of her for a few days and while trying to find a good spot for her (all the fosters are really full right now), and getting her first vet treatments taken care of. We did finally get her into a longer term foster with good people there just before we left (big relief). Our friend had been taking care of a little brown dog who had been mauled and needed a lot of rehab, and she just got well enough to go to the regular foster place. We just got an update with pics, so: Here are Lena (brown) and Carebear (originally Cary after the bartender who foisted her on us). They are going to be spayed next week and will soon be available for adoption. If anyone is looking, there are some very fine puppers down there.
It was nice enough today to open the shop doors, and a fly got in. This fact was noticed and tracking ensued. The fly was eventually eaten.
That is some serious work being done with those ears...Mine just inhales every flying critter she can pounce on...I cut her food back a little those days since she found extra protein on her own.
Once known as Dallas, was shot, lost a leg, lived for years outdoors, owner sent away for being a disgusting human, arrived at the shelter, was adopted, returned, adopted by us at about 7 years old, named "VeeVee" for a week or two for reasons that RP will understand, but became "Buster." And here he found a soft bed and lots of pizza bones.

Regret that I never got to meet him. Sincere condolences to you all.
