You shine like a star
You know who you are
You're everything beautiful
She's hot, hot like the sun
The loneliest one
Still everything beautiful
Well I'll be god damned
You're standing at my door
We stayed up in the city
Until the stars lost the war
So Friday night, holy ghost
Take me to your level
Show me the one I need the most
I need the most

I wish I knew you when I was young
We could've got so high
Now we're here it's been so long
Two strangers in the bright lights
Oh I hope you don't mind
We can share my mood
Two strangers in the bright lights
I wish I knew you
I wish I knew you
Oh I wish I knew you when I was young

Truth, it's all that you need
You bury that seed
It's everything beautiful
That sound comes from the underground
It's all inside you now
It's everything beautiful
But what are you running from?
They got you on the run?
So Friday night, holy ghost
Take me to your level
Show me the one I need the most
I need the most

I wish I knew you when I was young
We could've got so high
Now we're here it's been so long
Two strangers in the bright lights
Oh and I hope you don't mind
We can share my mood, yeah
Two strangers in the bright lights
I wish I knew you
I wish I knew you
Oh I wish I knew you when I was young

Maybe we can share my mood
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Maybe we can share my mood
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Maybe we can share my mood
Whoa, whoa, whoa

I wish I knew you when I was young
We could've got so high
Now we're here it's been so long
Two strangers in the bright lights
Oh and I hope you don't mind
We can share my mood, yeah
Two strangers in the bright lights
I wish I knew you
I wish I knew you
Oh I wish I knew you when I was young

So evocative.
They think they can rob Mathieu Chedid and remain uncaught?
What a great song

Earworm time again then

Another amazing segue from Bill and Rebecca: "You Might Think" by Sons of the East into "Wish I knew You" by The Revivalists.

You sure that's the song from the movie? The comments indicate otherwise. It doesn't fit well. Actually this fits better.
I don't remember if the song was in the movie but the GIF is fun with it. The move was very interesting in a disturbing way

SUPERB!! I never heard of them, prior to RP. The more I hear this tune, the more I like it!! Thank You RP!

I will say that Ex Machina is one of my favoriate movies in the 21st century....and that "house" out in the "woods" was freaking AWESOME....Long Live RP and using the internet to find answers!!

This is a very wistful song, with a beat that belies the thoughts conveyed.

The first time I heard those horns I figured it was a 70's tune that I missed.  Made me think "I wish I heard that when I was young."
Something of  Toploader about that chorus ...

Yep. And for a totally different take on the woman playing the Android in this clip, Sonoya Mizuno, check out the Alex Garland series "Devs"

Is it Charlotte Gainsbourg ??
A slow, driving, unrelenting groove. I started this at an 8, but maybe higher.

Love the song. Wish I could un-see the lead singer, though. :/

Close, but not quite.  It's got a similar rhythm guitar sound but not as much syncopation and off-beat stuff as most of Nile's recordings.  It's cool but it's much more "blue-eyed soul" than it is "funk" to me.
Why does this remind of "Dancing in the Moonlight"?

So true, on both accounts, AhhtheMusic!  And while my wife and I met "too late" in some regards, with our slight age difference (she's 15 years older....) well, too much sooner might have been illegal....so....yeah there's that.
And I've got this grooviness rated at a 9. Long Live RP!!

Very cool to hear this on RP. Our wonderful little locally owned station here in Savannah (WRHQ) started playing this about six weeks ago. I thought it was new. Dang - 2015? okay.  Solid 8 from me.
Nice little tune!
They have a great video for this song.

There's not really a bad track to be found on the album.  It's an excellent example, in the era of single track downloading and streaming, that album rock is still being created.

Me too Andy.  I found a lady just two months ago, have a way to go but . . . this song reflects my feelings today.

Ok, enough of playing this one.
Easy groove.  I like it.

I don't think I've ever rated anything here as a "1". Seems that I found a song that more than fits that bill in this one.
Awesome song!!!! {#Music}

So pleased I first heard this song on Radio Paradise cuz now I am going to hear them perform live in Sandpoint Idaho this summer! Love love love this tune and band.
