We are kneeling at the rivers edge and tempting
All the steps to follow closer right behind
Is it only when you feel a part is empty
That it's gnawing at the corners of your mind

I will ask you for mercy
I will come to you blind
What you'll see is the worst me
Not the last of my kind

In the muddy water we're falling
In the muddy water we're crawling
Holds me down
Hold me now
Sold me out
In the muddy waters we're falling

It is not clear why we choose the fire pathway
Where we end is not the way that we had planned
All the spirits gather 'round like its our last day
To get across you know we'll have to raise the sand

Oooh, I will ask you for mercy
I will come to you blind
What you'll see is the worst me
I'm not the last of my kind

In the muddy water we're falling
In the muddy water we're crawling
Holds me down
Hold me now
Sold me out
In the muddy waters we're falling

Don't fail me now
Put your arms around me and pull me out
I know I'm found
With your arms around me, oh save me now

In the muddy water we're falling
In the muddy water we're crawling
Holds me down
Hold me now
Sold me out
In the muddy waters we're falling

You want to talk muddy waters?

Just swim in the Mississippi,  Missouri, and Ohio Rivers!

You're never sure what's bumping against your legs, when your floating on a inner tube!!
Excellent...but you really need to experience Laura Pergolizzi live. She puts on a great show!
I was at the show that Wikipedia referenced!  This was a great performance, she's full of fire!
Wiki says she has written songs for Cher, the Backstreet Boys, Céline Dion and Christina Aguilera. Some of the most despised pop stars I can think of.
Ok, so LP needs to release an LP, titled LP with a single titled LP, thus defeating the former champion of redundancy, Bad Company, who could only get to 3.

LP's hit single LP from their LP LP vs.
Bad Company's hit single Bad Company from their album Bad Company.

4 years later.... Bill and Rebecca play Janis straight after LP!

4 years and 10 months later Janis strikes again...I do enjoy the subtlety involved in reminding the audience at large with a song selection that they're always welcome to start their own radio station. Play on, Radio Paradise...play on.

Adele clone, say what?

This seems like it could have been a great song, but the "hipster handclap" instrumentals and the Janis Joplin wanabee vocals just don't do it for me.

I would enjoy this more if I didn't always hear it in the grocery store too.
Wow RP has an amazing mix this morning, oliver tuku, sam phillips how to dream, jackson browne, cherokee street by son volt, the innocence mission, obert Plant - Charlie Patton Highway, Al Green Love and Happiness, LP Muddy Waters...love it

Back on after a three year hiatus.  Let the badgering begin.
Pretty predictable pop. I'd rather listen to Lana Del Ray, and Lana's on my PSD list.

This is LP, who was once a member of Cracker.

She was apparently a guest vocalist on one Cracker tune, not a member of the band.  She seems like a talented songwriter but is a little too "tattooed, ukulele-playing, hipster-pretending-to-be-from-Williamsburg" for me.  Still, it's nice of her to write a tune honoring the great blues man.

Hehe, for a second I thought this was Britney Spears....

But then I always confuse Basia Bulat with Shakira

I realize how important it is for you to know that.

{#Roflol} That mindfulness course was useful. {#Smile}

What's this doing on RP?

Odd question for a radio station explicitly claiming to be eclectic.

oh gosh, please make it stop!

had to look to see who this is and was momentarily surprised by the 'muddy waters' label.  Thought maybe Bill had messed up.  But as usual, it's just new and good music coming through those speakers!
