I love staying up so late
I love getting a good night's sleep
I wanna hear some old hymns tonight
I need to hear Christopher Wallace speak
I could go for some food right now
I could care less if we ever eat
I sure love just sittin' around
Some days I'm never off my feet but

Gotta love what you do, babe
For that jingle jangle
'Cause we only get a few days
Nobody makes it outta here anyway
What puts a shuffle in your shoes, babe?
That's the thing worth chasing
Gotta love what you do, babe
So not a day goes wasted

Don't wanna let a day go wasted

Go 'head be a scientist
Start a band with your best friends
Be the muscle with a phony list
Change some oil, burn your wrist
Stay home, raise a family
Go teach gym overseas
I'll love you for whatever it is
Just don't let a day go wasted
Don’t wanna let a day go wasted

So, gotta love what you do, babe
For that jingle jangle
'Cause we only get a few days
Nobody makes it outta here anyway
What puts a shuffle in your shoes, babe?
That's the thing worth chasing
Gotta love what you do, babe
So not a day goes wasted
Don't let a day go wasted

And I like the TV way too loud
I like it colder when we sleep
I drive too close to the outside lane
I drive you crazy when I breathe
I think I'm ready for a new life
I think I'm ready for a beautiful wife
Think I'm done with fightin'
'Cause it's just time we're wasting

Great message!!
Thanks RP, a lovely find!
i love this. it should be in the rotation more.
To me this is the kind of song that’s amazing the first time you hear it, but you really don’t need to listen to it ever  again. At least not for a year or so. I could see it driving me nuts if it got overplayed
Not bad. First time I've heard it.
I was retired from my job last week, and this lyric hits home -- three hours after that fateful meeting (ugh) I was on the phone to a current client, who was delighted that I now had some free time because :) he had a bunch of work he wanted to start on. \\o/

Don't waste a day. Absolutely.
What a find, thank you RP! Making a donation right now!

Thoughts expressed in a most excellent way!
I was standing by the stove playing head chef in my Grandma's kitchen. There we were, post my Grandfather’s passing - Myself, Grandma, Dad, and Uncle Rich. We spent ten full days together trying to navigate losing a husband, father, and grandfather. You’re never prepared for such moments. You just do your best to get through it one step at a time. Time was fluid. The days seemed long and yet short at the same time. We took walks, and lounged around the living room responding to heartfelt condolences but mostly, we cooked. We made massive, elaborate meals altogether. With a vegan, a vegetarian, and a gluten-free Uncle in the house, I had my work cut out for me. The challenge was accepted. I got very creative. I’ll be honest, sometimes it worked out, and sometimes I realized how kind my relatives are… Cooking was the only thing my brain could focus on. We hovered in the kitchen together telling stories, reminiscing, laughing, and crying. When this song came on, my uncle turned to me - I love the lyrics he said with a smile. We stopped and listened. What a powerful message about life and how to do your best to live it to its fullest. In a way, it gave us a moment of pure honor to a man who followed the message of this song whole heartily and taught us all how to do the same.
Lovely song and a reminder.
