Yes, I'm lonely
Wanna die
Yes, I'm lonely
Wanna die
If I ain't dead already, whoo
Girl, you know the reason why
In the morning
Wanna die
In the evening
Wanna die
If I ain't dead already, whoo
Girl, you know the reason why
My mother was of the sky
My father was of the Earth
But I am of the Universe
And you know what it's worth
I'm lonely
Wanna die
If I ain't dead already, whoo
Girl, you know the reason why
The eagle picks my eyes
The worm he licks my bone
Feel so suicidal
Just like [[Bob Dylan:Ballad Of A Thin Man|Dylan's Mr. Jone]]
Lonely
Wanna die
If I ain't dead already, whoo
Girl, you know the reason why
The black cloud crossed my mind
Blue mist 'round my soul
Feel so suicidal
Even hate my rock and roll
Wanna die
Yeah, wanna die
If I ain't dead already, whoo
Girl, you know the reason why
(Turn it up)

You and producer George Martin think alike - he suggested it be a single album but the lads overruled him. I think George was right, myself.

This song should be played with its predecessor on the White Album (Birthday) to capture the trajectory of the McCartney-Lennon song writing and personal dynamic....
Not one of my favorite Beatles songs. 9
This probably is considered a trite piece, at least I thought so, but hearing it afresh tonight, I find it much more interesting than before. It's easy to take Beatles songs for granted and to dismiss the ones that never got much attention, but these guys appear to have had something special. I should go back into their catalogue.
Awesome.
This is one of those songs where you don't need to ask "I wonder if Paul wrote it or John wrote it?".

The Beatles at their bluesiest. Whodda' thunk it?
The Lads were never more badazz than this. Woo Hoo! If you DIG be sure to check out the Dirty Mack version John did with a few mates on the Rock and Roll Circus.
Everybody in my church loves this song...
This is a great John Lennon rocker and the Beatles recorded it all playing live together in this really small room! :D

Oh yeah? And then play Helter Skelter, to ascertain that Lennon/McCartney don't neatly fall into our narrow-minded boxes or simplistic patterns.
