Where the hell are you running to
Trying to find yourself a life?
Look at yourself, you?re standing still
The night could cut you like a knife

There?s no hope now left in this world
So you think and you still fly
Take the time to look in front of you
It?s a matter of your mind

Waiting for the night to come
Tell me how you feel inside
Don?t you know which way to run?
It?s a matter of your pride, matter of your pride
Matter of your pride

Tired of people talking what they?re gonna do
What they said or should?ve done
Now I?m not waiting around for the axe to fall
Take my chances on the run

There?s no hope now left in this world
So you think and you still fly
Take the time to look in front of you
It?s a matter of your mind

Waiting for the night to come
Tell me how you feel inside
Don?t you know which way to run?
It?s a matter of your pride, matter of your pride
Matter of your pride, matter of your pride
Matter of your pride

Take your time, think it over
Take your time, think it over
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in

Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you

Totally not U2, which is fucking great because I fucking hate U2, too.
Can't believe that I never heard these guys before.

Thanks, RP!
This sounds like Colorado in the early 90s.
Most excellent road tuneage.  Nearly turned my 1976 f250 into a self driving vehicle.
Exactly why I love Radio Paradise:
Never heard of these guys, but now I like them.
Only my first time hearing this, sounds good to me
IDK. Maybe if I listen to it a few more times, it will grow on me.
Cool to hear them right after BoDeans, always thought they were separated at birth...

9.

ditto!

Didn't like it at first. Judgemental: "Oh, another edge wanna-be" -- but it grew on me and now I'm feelin the groove. I'd love to see these guys live. Send 'em to Santa Rosa, please.
i was a freddy jones skeptic till i saw them live...see them if you have the chance

This song is the very essence of a 3 rating. Ho hum.

Sounds a little like some bad U2 extended plays, especially when the singer stops wetting the mike. However, they have a way to go to sustain comparison with U2. Absolutely no finesse in their play if you compare to U2. Better choose a less present drummer. He is with the singer the most ruining element of this ersatz bandage.

I'm actually starting to quite like the guitar
...nice - soothing and energising, both...
I like it. You got to appreciate a live recording that is this clean. Wish I was there to see it.
repetitive and unoriginal

I was thinking the same. The Edge's riffs and "style" show up in a lot of places. That sort of appriegiated claw hammer with the echo-plex is popular.
Yeah - either it's him moonlighting or Freddy's guitarist grew up worshiping him
is that you, Edge?
smells like womad...mmmm

Damn fine midwest jam band! Outside venue on a nice summer eve, priceless!

have seen these guys live a number of times...one of the best live bands you'll ever see. do a search for their song "in a daydream" - it's a killer.
this is like u2 meets barenaked ladies. horrible.
this is such a feel-good album. reminds me that it is the WEEKEND and mother-f'in BOOZE TIME!
Had the opportunity to catch these guys once and man, what a rythm section! Really good drummer who kept the rest of the band powered thru the evening. These guys are alright in my book.

LOL
The Moj liketh! Great intro Maybe I like this song because I "discovered" FJB many years ago and I feel a personal connection with them. In defense of this song I will say that the studio version is much less U2ish. Personally, I think the best work from 'Edge" was when did this kind of thing. Sure, he did it better, but it's a style I like, even when done nearly as well. Now that I type this, I have to admit I forgot how long this song runs on, but by golly I stick by my "Moj liketh" statement!!
Can't stand extended jams on the radio. They just don't have the same effect when you can't see the musicians doing it. Then again, even if I COULD see them, I probably still wouldn't like this.

This sounds nothing like U2. The guitarist occaisonally strums really fast like the Edge, but nothing about else about their sound or style makes me think of U2. This is a jam band, and like all jam bands they have absolutely no melody, relying instead on the "ambiance" (provided by marijuana) of their live concerts.

glad to hear these guys are touring again. their first few albums were great... hopefully they can recapture some of that early magic.
sounds like the Pinball Wizard in ukelele.
Ho-Hum

Ugh. I hate to post twice on this song, but FJB has much better live cuts, and to state again, the studio version of this tune blows the live version away. Even when I saw them live in the early 90s they kicked this version's head. Then again, alcohol & reverb could have played a part in my enjoyment.
FJB has a lot of other songs that are much better.
The only two chords with any merit in this song - ( Intro riff carried on ad nauseam) are ripped straight from Pete Townshends Pinball Wizard. Can't see why anyone would want to keep this on the playlist. Please 'take the time' to banish this dross.
Studio cut from back in 93 kicks the live version's butt.

amen, amen, amen brother.
Nice guitar work.
I can't decide if I like this or not. Great beginning, got me dancing a little, then... bad, boring lyrics... I'm still waiting for someone amazing to happen....

Wow, gotta go back over 2 years for this comment... Bill, seriously, PLEASE abandon this live cut and play the studio version instead. If you don't have it, I'll send it forthwith. This is one of those rare occasions where the live track actually detracts from what was done in the studio. It literally sounds like someone's dying on stage in this recording. Out of respect to FJB, I grant this a 5, but that's probably 2 points too many.
Great intro and OK music, but lose the singer--he's bringing down the whole vibe.
dear god, make it stop
slick and soulless, pretty good musicianship, but where's the ooomph. kinda derivative of a whack of pop riffs. maybe it's just me...
I met the lead singer of this band when they played at my university. I asked him why he didn't play their best song on the album "Daydream", and he was a real ass in his response. I'm sort of happy they never hit it big, because they aren't actually breaking any new ground here. Plus, he's an ass.
These guys played a reunion show in Chicago on Saturday... first appearance since 99, I believe. Unfortunatley, I didn't make it. Would love it if they got back together... maybe it will happen.
great tune...haven't heard much from that album
Goes on too long, mediocre, after a promissing start

yuk. anyone know of a script that will mute and then unmute after the next silence? this is a serious question, not a joke btw. i often wish fro this when listening to RP (maybe my fault, but whatever :-) )

Why did you go to see them a second time, let alone a third?
Got really excited, I was hoping for, Ever since I was a young boy I played the silver ball. A live version of that would've gone down a treat right now...

lol good one!!! actually, I really liked this version. Seem to be in the minority based on the comments I see here. I have another live version from KFOG Live from the Archives I; this version is much more groovin'.
I totally was into the intro, but from the verse on, this song went nowhere. Too bad.

This is what we called AOR ( American Oriented Rock ) when I was in England. Thankfully, not ALL American Rock music sounds like this but I used to think it did. It\'s OK. But it\'s totally unremarkable.
Monotonous and grating. Reminds of a friend\'s band in graduate school, droning on and on at parties. No one had the heart to tell them they were ordinary and sucked. I\'ll take the time here - - this band is ordinary and sucks.
Blah. Maybe you had to be there...
I\'m not too sure \'bout the songs I heard so far, but what a powerful, good rocking band this is! Their name isn\'t that hip and a bit confusing, \'cause you expect a country band, with a family member of George Jones. Oh, and you can\'t just play rockmusic without being influenced by bands like the Who (to start with) and U2, I think. Recently I heard an American cover band, who where blowing the originals away with their renditions. They could not only play like hell, but all had a great voice as well, including the drummer. They could play any possible (pop)style it seemed. If only such a band had the right material of their own, I\'m sure they would be really big. There are of course more examples of that.
Ever since i was a young boy, i played the silv-- what? Oh.
I haven\'t heard anything by FJB that I didn\'t totally like. One of the best bands next to nobody has heard. More, please. :D :D
Guitar sounds totally like The Edge.
