Now that you're grown up
You can finally learn to be a child
We made it to the end of the world
But we'll never make it out alive

Skin thin
I breath out you breath in
But the days seem so long
Skin thin
Blood again
It's all I can do to hold on
We're just skin thin

Always knew if we didn't have each other
We'd have nothing at all
But you were always brave enough
To live like you could never fall

Skin thin
I breath out you breath in
But the days seem so long
Skin thin
Blood again
It's all I can do to hold on

Now that we've grown up
Can finally learn to be a child
With good friends behind me
But ghosts up ahead for miles and miles

Skin thin
I breath out you breath in
But the days seem so long
Skin thin
Blood again
It's all I can do to hold on

thought it was Cat Stevens
I would love to sit down and have a few beers and conversation with Ben Harper.  Something tells me that it would be a fine time.
Background music plus.

Yea, me neither. Ben's cool with me.

I'm amazed at anyone who is other than annoyed with this collection of sound-bite lyrics.  Someone - probably his mother - lied to this man and told him not only that he's talented, he's original and deep as well.  Bogus.

Someone's mother lied to them but it wasn't Ben Harper.  How often do you cry for mommy?  Or is your crying just reserved for these boards.
You are right on, Mr. Harper; life is skin thin, ain't it?  Now that I'm grown up, I truly understand that we'll not make it out alive.

It's interesting to note that many of the comments lacking insight are no doubt from those young-uns not raised in the folk music era. Each to his own opinion.
So great to hear this song on RP.

Almost thought this was Ben Harper for awhile there....
Nice tune but almost cannot stand how Ben is singing here.

Good song off a great album.  There are definitely better choices on this album and god knows how many in his back catalogue.

Good old Joe Islam.

Man, what a very nice tune. Immediate 8 in my book.

I like this— 7 at least on first take

For sure, never heard Mr. Harper sounding so Cat-like!

Interesting record, check it out.  Ben's got three young men from Texas (Relentless7) backing him up this time around.  Those boys can rock!  The heavier tracks are much more interesting than this one.

Overall, this CD seems to be hit-or-miss. I've heard a few different tracks off of it, and have really liked what I've heard, with the exception of one or two tracks, which I didn't really care for at all.

This one, I like. Solid effort. An "8" after my first listen.

Love it... best Ben in years!!!
interesting new harper album
