Hello Bill, First of all I want to complement you and your wife with having Radio Paradise and your music choice. My wife and I love this music station. But, unfortunately there is a but, for a few months now we have some stutters on certain moments, mostly around 5.00 - 6.00 PM Amsterdam time zone. When they occur, the song is interrupted every 10 or so seconds for the duration of 2-4 seconds. We use a Bluesound node 2. I first contacted them, but they refer to RP. When I look in the Bleusound logfile I notice distinct errors appear: May 27 14:52:52 (none) user.info ./ms.pl: Controller::outputUnderrun Controller.pm (2745) streamId=418 Though the Bluesound node is attached through Wifi, I don't believe that is the problem, because I can play flawless high res music from my NAS and the Bluesound reports a good Wifi connection. The stutering lasts mostly about 10 minutes, but it is very anoying. Maybe it is some kind internet traffic-jam, as it mostly occures about 5.00 PM every day, I don't know. Does this makes any sence tot you? I read in other posts beneath that you advise other links to streams. Unfortunately I cann't use those in the Bluesound. But on the other hand the stuters we suffer from are in a short time-span. So maybe this a different kind of problem. I'm curious what you think about this. Greetings from the Netherlands, Han Jeurissen

Here's the new test URL. We've identified 2 issues. This URL should successfully address one of those. The other will be addressed tomorrow. If you've posted the test URL anywhere, please update your post to the new URL. The old one will be discontinued shortly. http://icy-8.radioparadise.com/flac
This is still subject to periodic outages â some brief (for software updates), some longer (due to failures caused by the second issue I mentioned above) Listening via the LMS plugin is a totally different deal than via the stream link below. Any stuttering would be happening either on LMS, your network, or your player - not on our end.

Today between 10 and 14 o'clock Argentina worked correctly the link. Then the connection was cut off. Now at 4 pm it is connected but it is impossible to listen, it is cut continuously. (Edit) Sorry, since the web is also cut and can not be heard. Even the emissions that are not flac, in both channels.

Trying to use the new Flac stream but either the station becomes inaccessible or has frequent drops. Iâm using a Roon player which supports other Flac stations such as JB Radio 2. I donât suppose thereâs anything we users can do to help âfixâ the problems.

Not sure if this is the right place, please direct me if not. I found RP via Squeezebox/Logitech Music Server...been listening all year (and have donated). Sometime in past couple months the FLAC stream for LMS Mellow Mix has started hanging intermittently. I think RP knows about it and is working on it. In my options for LMS, I see the 320 bit stream for the regular RP channel...its never had a problem. Is there a 320 bit stream for the Mellow Mix? I'd be happy with that while the FLAC issue is getting worked out. Love the content RP, keep it up.

The test FLAC stream is offline. Based on reports by others it has been down for at least 24 hours, or was down 24 hours ago, or something. The AAC stream is playing fine here. (I'm also getting some stuttering in the LMS plugin for the first time ever, but I'll report that in the LMS forum.)

No speed issues yesterday or today! I tested the stream for four hours yesterday and briefly this morning. ⢠In MusicBee for two hours, once an hour I got a few seconds of stuttering and a brief dropout, but it recovered fine. ⢠In LMS after two hours it dropped out and the player stopped completely. ⢠Today in VLC I got stuttering and dropouts in the first minutes. Hope these reports are helpful. I'd blame something on my end, but all other streams play fine here. Also you may be interested in these odd posts by someone testing the stream with ffmpeg and other tools: https://www.pinkfishmedia.net/... left_channel wrote:
Yes, I and everyone else reporting the speed issue also get stuttering. Glad to hear this may be the issue you're working on. Good luck! BillG wrote:
left_channel wrote:Your apps are fantastic and I'm a proud supporter. Just trying this test stream to help out. I have listened to a FLAC stream in MusicBee before with no problem (a EuropaRadioJazz channel that is no longer online), so it seems significant I'm hearing so many problems in this one now. Also dropouts and disconnects in VLC. If it was only LMS I wouldn't be surprised and we'd be handling it entirely on the LMS forum.
Got it. The test stream seems pretty stable at the moment. I think I may have isolated the cause of the stuttering & dropouts. I'll play with it some more tomorrow. The wrong-speed (sample rate error) issue is something I haven't encountered using VLC (the only player I've used so far) â though sometimes the stuttering causes something similar. If you're talking about a sample-rate issue only â ie playback is smooth, but just sounds too fast or slow â then I definitely want to hear more. If it's a stuttering + speed error, then it's probably the known issue I'm working on. I appreciate the feedback.

I'm seriously considering looking for a rebuilt backup motherboard. Its got an i5 Pentium 4 in it. I have already accumulated a couple of extra soundcards. Oh and I simply love the DT 1770 headphones. Thanks for mentioning them. A serious game changer.
Curious why you are using VBR vs CBR ? Could the VBR be causing the processors to work too hard to adapt to the changes and causing some of these stuttering problems with the huge size of the flac files ?
The encoder I'm using doesn't offer a CBR option. Actually, I'm pretty sure the FLAC codec is inherently VBR. Got the DT 1770s, eh? They've spoiled me for all other headphones and speakers (at least any that I own). I have a pair of Klipsch X-20i earbuds that I use when I'm out & about — otherwise I use the DT 1770s pretty much full time.
