I wasn't able to reproduce this. But I wasn't able to find the RDS TA app. Just tested using the microphone to ask Google assistant what time it was. Blackbirds wrote:

Thank you very much! I am not sure if it is the USB cable as it is a good solid/sturdy cable which came with the phone is relatively short and it is a USB Type C connector (the micro's can get a bit wonky). It is not random, it does not happen with Podcast Addict. The issue after a TA is only with RP. Another work-around: when driving in areas where I am not familiar with the roads and/or language is simply turning TA off. Worked in Scotland :- )

This is called audio ducking, and the Radio Paradise app fully supports it. If the issue seems random it could be a bad usb cable. I had a lot of problems till I switched to a shorter one. But other possibilities are: - The phones power saving feature can interfere with apps running in the background - Misbehaving audio app stealing focus ( audio focus is cooperative on android ) I'll check if any recent updates are causing an issue. Finally after some time I have a car with Android Auto. So glad that I can now play my two favorite (phone) audio apps using the car audio system (instead of a Bluetooth speaker) while on the road: Podcast Addict and Radio Paradise (Spotify is not a favorite).
