I'm surprised the Carolinas don't have a team/aren't mentioned. Something between ATL and DC. Nashville I guess is "in the neighborhood". Great part of the country to watch baseball on a summer evening.
I got to watch the Dash play the Grasshoppers on a glorious evening last June. It was pretty much sold out but there were a lot of empty seats.
Phillies are his hometown team, for sure. Harper loves playing there, right? I imagine Moreno might even have to eat some of his contract to make him more palatable to someone Trout's willing to play for.
There is a movement to get a MLB team in Raleigh, NC - the owner of the Hurricanes NHL team is very eager to make it happen. I'm not sure how close it is to be considered by the league though. Minor league baseball is pretty popular around the state - particularly the Durham Bulls.
A good friend of mine's son played for the Bulls this year...which is what got me to wonderin'

Vegas has long been a candidate for the 31st team, along with Nashville 32nd, IIRC.
There's something weird about the Raiders and the A's being in Vegas. Sorta like Elvis going off to Vegas and making all those lousy movies. The edgy and hip getting put into a glass case of curiosities.
It's gotta really hurt to be a sports fan in Oakland...
Trivia question: What professional sports franchise has the most championships in Philadelphia history?
Answer: The Las Vegas A's (5)
It's funny, but I'm not quite sure outside of the ownership group, who is in favor of the move to LV? I heard the Vegas natives on the Phillies (Harper and Stott) say they thought an expansion team was more appropriate for Vegas. I would guess that Vegas likes the idea that visitors will combine a trip to see their home-town club and Vegas in one vacation/long weekend. I don't think I'd go to Vegas in July to see the Phillies, but in May...maybe.

It's crazy. The LV market is smaller. A made-for-TV game like football, I can see it making some sense. But MLB needs butts in seats. Oakland has a great fan base potential.

So, Oakland has lost its basketball, football, and baseball teams. Really too bad

It's possible they're trying to force the city to pass the stadium bill. Oakland has $0.9BN set aside for one, but if Fisher is going to own the stadium, I wouldn't do it either.
edit: Ah I just watched Manfred's announcement and it's a done deal.
MLB approves âunanimouslyâ the move to Vegas. It still makes no sense and they're going to be without a stadium anywhere after next year. The Vegas one won't be ready until 2028.

Wow. Giants needed a manager, sounds like they didn't even talk. But if you believe managers win games, when one like Counsell hits the market, it's not surprising a team would jettison whoever's in the chair to try to get him.

Remember when he was Boston's 5th starter who just dominated when he got to the postseason?
To be fair, though, Arizona should have led 20-nothing by the end of the 4th inning last night. Exciting and tense but not exactly a masterpiece except for the fact that he wriggled out of it.
Yup got his 2018 ring here. Watching the game last night and did some channel surfing to find no runs scored. I was shocked. Still came up with 5 post season wins, never been done before. Surprised he didnât get the MVP.
Why canât we ever get pitchers like Nathan Eovaldi?
Congrats to the Rangers.
