Well, they lived in "Desperate" Hot Springs... splains a lot.

I just read a little bit about him. I'll bet that was an interesting time. I'd love to roll down some of those roads again. Maybe take a different turn or two. Literally and figuratively...

sheesh. My favorite Stone... Variety wrote, “Sitting at a minimalist kit and moving even more minimally with his casual jazz grip, [Watts looks] like the mild-mannered banker who no one in the heist movie realizes is the guy actually blowing up the vault.”
An ex-girlfriend gave me a ticket to a Nancy Griffith concert when her own plans to go fell through. I'd never heard of Nancy but thought it might be something to try. Her beautiful voice touched me so much that I struggled not to cry throughout the concert.
Such a shame. It hurts when you discover an artistic genius who disappears a short time later. I regret not digging deeper into Nancy's work but I guess I still have time for that.
She was born in Seguin, a wide spot in the road south of Austin. She played up and down The Drag (Guadalupe St, next to campus) for years, including residency at a dump called 'Hole in the Wall'. Lyle-somebody was in her band, along with a who's who of nobodies. Incredible talent - not just Nanci but the whole gang from the 70's and 80's. I expect a tribute album will be epic. My #1 NG song is 'It's a Hard life Wherever You Go', but it's a long list of faves.
