Well it does all depend on making assumptions about the cats evenly splitting the work and being able to go at non stop for as long as it takes, but is hard to interpret in in any other way.  3 cats get 3 rats in 3 minutes.  Split the 100 cats up into 33 groups of 3 cats and each of them will get 3 rats in three minutes.  That's 99 rats in 3 minutes.  It all depends on how long it takes that last lone cat to get the final rat.

Not quite.  It's one rat per cat per three minutes or each cat takes three minutes to get one rat.  A hundred cats then would need three minutes to get a hundred rats.  This assumes that all cats catch rats at the same rate and that rate does not depend on how many other cats he is competing with.  A rather dubious assumption if the number of rats is fixed.

I'm a mathematician.  I couldn't just let it slide.

Ten killed and 20 injured after a van crash in Texas

This makes it seem as if the crash and the deaths were two separate events. Shouldn't it be "Ten Killed and Twenty Injured in Van Crash in Texas"?

Seems to me like you have plenty of friends here.

Apparently there's an epidemic of loneliness in the US (and likely other places). Just google "epidemic of loneliness" and look at the sources returning the top hits. Supposedly this problem is actually improving during the pandemic
