Put my AC in the kitchen window and plugged it in and the board was fried and wonât turn on just flicker. Had to go to Home Depot tonight and get a replacement 8k. Got the Media U-Shape AC that has an EER value of 16. Better than my old Frigidaire at 10.4. Iâll take the old one out and put the new one in tomorrow after the thunderstorms pass by in the morning.
Yeah, and it's dry heat. I've always wanted to use this emoji
Not in Pittsburgh. Currently 78% humidity where I am atm. Reminds me of a good day in my years in New O.
Ah. yer downwind.
You get my weather about an hour or two later. Had some very wild stuff this past week. Two days of tornados all around us. Monsoonal whiteout pull off to the side of the road type rain at times.
Back East in the Mid West as they are known to say, it's not about the humidity. It is all about the dew point.
50 ish is wonderful
60 ish is getting stuffy, sticky
70+ is tropical. Think Viet Nam in the summer rainy time. Or the same in N O, I suppose.
The Better Half™ is gone for the day, so I’m car-less. About 9a all power went out for the neighborhood. Estimated time of restoration about 10p. On the longest day of the year. As the heat wave comes in that’s supposed to crank the temp into mid/upper 80s. Well, OK then. Windows closed. I shut off the breaker just in case and am replacing a handful of wall outlets that the previous owner decided to just sloppily paint over. Wall is white, outlets were black, now Dalmatian and pathetic. I was planning on a chicken tagine for dinner but we’ll have to (heh) put that on the back burner…
It's a tragedy. That almost our low temp.

Power back on. Doing the mise en place for the tagine and thinking of Anne Burrell.
Brother (81 today!) is safely in a hospice and feeling ok for the time being.
Might test out this nice new gin I bought a couple of days ago in honor of my brother, who played me Rocky Raccoon when I was about 9 and I thought it was hysterical that the doctor was stinking of gin...

Trying to be helpful to my son and his wife now that our five year-old grandson has suddenly been diagnosed with type one diabetes. That means about 15 fingersticks or injections every single day until the insurance approves the electronic monitoring and pump systems for him. The dog howls when our grandson screams.
She starts a brand new first time nursing job tomorrow.
My boy is a lead healthcare policy analyst for a company that Trump is gutting left and right, and heâs lost many colleagues so far and doesnât know if his job is secure (with its insurance coverage).
I canât make any of it better, but when I hugged him hello he broke down and started weeping.
Fuck Donald Trump and his selfish, chaotic, nation ruining approach to destroying the lives of the people he is supposed to be helping.

It's very hard to see our children suffering:-(. Wish to all you all the best.
Drying out after bailing a bit early from the No Kings March.
My anecdotal observation is that this march was even larger than the Women's March in '17, which would make it the largest protest march in state history.
Probably depend on how many stores get looted protested ...
How about Capitol Buildings? Especially when Capitol Police are threatened with violence?
Welcome to Selective Outrage Theatre. In tonight's episode we examine the themes of blatant denial and hypocrisy ...
